Senior Clinical Content Specialists serve as informal team leads responsible for overall coordination and direction of content creation and maintenance for Micromedex® drug-related content sets. Members of the editorial team critically evaluate and synthesize multiple complex sources of information and utilize web publishing technology
Essential Job Duties:
- Directs and prioritizes creation and maintenance of clinical and scientific content for Micromedex NeoFax and Pediatrics content databases
- Applies critical literature evaluation skills, knowledge of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, disease state and therapeutic endpoints to accurately assess efficacy and/or comparative efficacy of drug therapy in pediatric patients
- Identifies, evaluates, and synthesizes appropriate references/literature to develop evidence-based clinical content related to the safe and appropriate use of drug therapies in pediatric patients
- Utilizes substance-specific pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic knowledge to identify or predict a potential mechanism for a drug interaction, adverse effect, therapeutic effect, or toxic effect
- Provides direction to other clinical writers in analyzing and selecting appropriate content for inclusion
- Synthesizes complex information from multiple, sometimes conflicting, sources to form a conclusion
- Reviews written content and provides feedback to writers to improve quality of content
- Researches and resolves editorial inquiries requiring domain expertise
- Performs quality control testing of Merative Micromedex® products; assists with development of quality assurance protocols
- Develops, maintains, and implements editorial policies and style guidelines
- Maintains understanding of current best practices, current controversies, issues, and developments related to medication use in the pediatric population
- Prioritizes work in alignment with business goals
- May provide support to other departments and business units as required, including client-facing engagements related to content strategy and roadmap
Basic Qualifications (minimum requirements needed to perform this job)
- 3-5 years clinical pediatric practice experience
- Demonstrated writing ability and knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure; computer literacy; knowledge of word processing and relational database applications
- Strong computer skills; familiarity with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and Adobe Professional
- Solid knowledge of Internet search engines and strategies

- Demonstrated expertise in critical literature evaluation skills
Education and Certification Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or clinical nursing degree (BSN or higher) required (pediatric pharmacy residency preferred)
- Active pharmacy or nursing license (may be held in any of the 50 US states)
