We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Microsoft 365 Engineer with deep expertise across the Microsoft 365 Productivity Suite to lead design, strategy, and operational excellence for our modern workplace platform. This role owns the end‑to‑end productivity experience across Microsoft 365 workloads such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams (collaboration layer), Microsoft Copilot, Loop, Planner, and Power Platform integrations. The Lead Engineer serves as the technical authority, driving standardization, governance, automation, and adoption at enterprise scale. The position works closely with Architecture, Security, Compliance, and Business stakeholders to ensure Microsoft 365 enables secure, scalable, and high‑impact productivity outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Microsoft 365 Productivity Platform Leadership

  • Lead the architecture, design, and operational strategy for the Microsoft 365 Productivity Suite

  • Own platform standards across Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams collaboration features, Copilot, Loop, Planner, and related services

  • Act as the final escalation point for complex cross‑workload M365 issues

  • Drive roadmap planning aligned with Microsoft releases and organizational priorities

Architecture, Governance & Adoption

  • Define and enforce Microsoft 365 governance, lifecycle management, and information architecture

  • Partner with Security & Compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory, audit, and data protection requirements

  • Design scalable models for collaboration, content management, and knowledge sharing

  • Lead adoption and change initiatives to maximize end‑user productivity and experience

Copilot, Automation & Modern Work Enablement

  • Lead deployment and optimization of Microsoft Copilot for M365 and AI‑assisted productivity workflows

  • Identify high‑value use cases for Copilot, Loop, Power Automate, and cross‑app integrations

  • Drive automation using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and Power Platform to reduce operational friction

Operational Excellence & ITSM

  • Establish mature ITSM‑aligned operational models, including incident, problem, and change processes

  • Build and maintain runbooks, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and operational playbooks

  • Monitor platform health, performance, and reliability, driving continuous improvement

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior and junior engineers

  • Act as the primary technical advisor to leadership on M365 productivity capabilities

  • Communicate platform risks, opportunities, and decisions clearly to business and IT stakeholders

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or strong hands-on experience

  • 8+ years of overall IT experience

  • 7+ years hands‑on experience managing Microsoft 365 at enterprise scale

  • Exposure in a Technical Lead role within M365 or Modern Workplace platforms

  • Expert‑level knowledge of Microsoft 365 Productivity workloads and designing enterprise‑scale M365 architectures

  • Deep experience with:

    • Exchange Online

    • SharePoint Online & OneDrive

    • Teams (collaboration and integration perspective)

    • Microsoft Copilot, Loop, Planner, and productivity apps

  • Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph API

  • Hands‑on experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps)

  • Strong understanding of identity, security, information governance, and compliance

  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and influencing abilities

  • Ability to operate independently in complex, ambiguous environments

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience supporting global or highly governed environments

  • Microsoft certifications such as MS‑102, MS‑700, SC‑300, or equivalent

Note - The role requires working in UK business hours. Rotational shifts may be required based on business needs.

The salary range provided in this job posting is intended to reflect the general market value for the position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific requirements of the role. This range may also be subject to change as market conditions evolve. We encourage open communication throughout the interview process to discuss compensation expectations. For base-salary + commission sales roles, the range represents On-Target Earnings.
