Working under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing automated test plans and verification procedures for the Merge Universal Viewer platform. The role is responsible for testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of web-based medical imaging applications.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain automated test cases and test protocols.

  • Define and own the test strategy for the Merge Universal Viewer product area.

  • Verify software functionality against functional requirements, user requirements, and design specifications.

  • Test web-based applications and imaging workflows.

  • Assist in testing systems, modules, integrations, and prototypes.

  • Perform installations, configurations, and execution of verification procedures.

  • Conduct ongoing regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.

  • Work with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

  • Report and track defects using approved defect tracking tools.

  • Drive improvements to automation frameworks, test coverage, and testing processes.

  • Maintain test environments and test data as required.

Core Competencies

  • Strong understanding of Software Quality Assurance methodologies.

  • Strong understanding of automated testing principles and practices.

  • Ability to define test strategies and risk-based testing approaches.

  • Ability to estimate testing effort and identify quality risks.

  • Experience with Agile software development.

  • Ability to work independently on large, complex systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.

Technical Skills

  • Experience testing medical imaging applications.

  • Familiarity with DICOM standards and workflows.

  • Familiarity with PACS systems and radiology workflows.

  • Knowledge of MPR, MIP, and Volume Rendering concepts.

  • Experience testing web-based applications.

  • Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, TestComplete, or JMeter.

  • Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux environments.

  • Experience using AI-assisted development and testing tools such as Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Claude.

Qualifications Required

Education: Undergraduate degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance; experience developing and maintaining automated tests; experience testing web applications; experience with medical imaging software, PACS, or healthcare applications preferred.

The salary range provided in this job posting is intended to reflect the general market value for the position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific requirements of the role. This range may also be subject to change as market conditions evolve. We encourage open communication throughout the interview process to discuss compensation expectations. For base-salary + commission sales roles, the range represents On-Target Earnings.
