About The Team
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with expertise in network infrastructure, security and troubleshooting to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining both on-premise and cloud infrastructure, while ensuring the highest levels of performance, security, and reliability. Ideally you have a strong background in building and maintaining distributed network infrastructure, firewalls (packet filtering & web application firewalls), and modern cloud technologies, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues in complex environments.
You bring a collaborative mindset to support engineers across the organization by providing best practices and enabling them to deploy their applications in a secure and sustainable manner.
Your Contribution
- You lead the design and development of complex systems, ensuring they meet business requirements, performance standards, and scalability needs. You develop and maintain architecture blueprints, to guarantee that the systems are built in line with the company's strategic goals.
- You provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. You conduct thorough reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and optimal performance.
- You evaluate, design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable cloud and on-premises infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- You maintain, improve and extend our global core network and firewall infrastructure to ensure reliable cross-system communication in a distributed landscape.
- You will ensure that systems and processes comply with security policies and industry standards; conduct audits and vulnerability assessments.
- You will implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions; lead incident response and post-mortem activities and participate in on-call rotations for ensuring availability of business critical systems and services.
- You will develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes. Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Professional working experience and a track record of success in the areas of on-premise and cloud infrastructure as a system administrator, DevOps engineer or SRE engineer
- Hands-on experience in both on-premise and cloud environments (preferably AWS, Google Cloud).
- In-depth knowledge of cloud network architectures, including VPCs, subnets, routing tables, security groups, and load balancers in major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and a strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, routing, subnetting, DNS, etc.) and protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, etc.).
- Experienced in security best practices, including VPNs, IPSec, TLS/SSL, and threat mitigation techniques and managing packet filter firewalls, web application firewalls and load balancers.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and alerting solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Pagerduty).
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix systems administration and proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Go, etc.) for automation
- Ability to perform root cause analysis for complex network and security issues and resolve them in real-time.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with a focus on continuous improvement, being pragmatic and solution oriented.
