About The Team
We are looking for a passionate (Senior) UX Researcher to establish best UXR practices and to advocate for User Research across the whole Product Creation organization at Native Instruments. We will need them to autonomously audit current user research practices and create a self-serve user research set-up for designers and PMs to carry out their own studies. We are looking for a Senior UX Researcher who is well-versed in UXR industry standards including interview sourcing, usability testing, field studies, and iterative design cycles. They must be an effective communicator, especially when it comes to advocating for the value of user research and teaching industry-standard methods across disciplines to people who have varying degrees of subject-matter expertise.
Your Contribution
- Be the voice of User Research across the whole Product Creation Organization
- Audit current user research practices across the design organization and identify improvement opportunities
- Create self-serve user research set-up for designers to autonomously carry out their own user research in the early stages of a project
- Spar with product and design counterparts on high-level user journeys and become aware of existing friction points in journeys that could benefit from research to inform prioritization of UXR resources
- Help PMs in defining what user data is relevant for them and how to gather what they need to know from the available tools.
- Facilitate and orchestrate user testing initiatives, fostering collaboration between product development and marketing teams.
- Streamline internal stakeholder requirements, ensuring alignment with overarching company objectives. Improve cross-team collaboration processes while communicating and disseminating insights across teams.
- Oversee the execution of user testing projects internally
- Curate and manage shareable research findings within the NI Research Hub, ensuring accessibility to relevant stakeholders.
- Synthesize Qualitative and Quantitative Data: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, Data Analysts, and Marketing Managers, to distill qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights.
- Integrate Insights from Surveys, Research, and Trends: Harmonize insights from surveys, research endeavors, trends, and industry/market reports, providing guidance for future enhancements in products, services, and marketing strategies.
- Develop Research Presentation Decks: Create comprehensive research presentation decks and craft reports driven by cohesive narratives.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Approaches user research with a curious, objective mind and scientific methodologies.
- Ability to provide designers with the necessary instructions and tools to carry out their own research in the early stages of a design process.
- Ability to recommend the most appropriate user research method based on the goals of a study as cited by the designer or product manager.
- Ability to package findings in a format that informs leadership of the trade off decisions throughout product development processes.
- Knowledge of best UXR practices and industry standards
- Significant project management experience, including managing multiple teams and projects.
- Strong understanding of OKRs and experience in fostering cross-team collaboration.
- Ability to align research strategies with company goals and objectives, ensuring that research efforts contribute to overall company success.
- Proficiency in planning and conducting various user research methodologies, such as interviews, surveys, and usability studies A/B testing.
- Ability to role out initiatives to scale UXR activities across designers and product managers
- Effective stakeholder management skills, facilitating streamlined communication between all involved parties in alignment with company objectives.
- User testing experience and expertise in internal management of user research projects, along with strong coordination skills with external recruiting partners or contractors.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in using research tooling and platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey research findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
- Expertise in User-Centered Design methodologies, including interview sourcing, usability testing, field studies, and iterative design cycles.
- Extensive experience of using music software and hardware (DAWs, plugins, MIDI Controllers, etc.)
