Who We Are

NewGlobe supports visionary governments to transform public education systems, the cornerstone of a prosperous, equitable, and peaceful society.

With a comprehensive system transformation platform and data-driven educational services, NewGlobe delivers rapid and dramatic improvements in learning outcomes at state and nationwide scale. Through building impactful partnerships and programmes, NewGlobe ensures that all children have access to an education that will develop their full potential and create a foundation for growth and prosperity.

NewGlobe leverages more than a decade of educational experience and proven impact in integrated school management, teacher professional development, instructional design innovation, technological system support, child-centered classroom practice, and parent engagement -- all grounded in learning science -- to ensure each teacher is empowered to engage children in transformational learning, and all children have the opportunity to develop to their full potential. Every day, NewGlobe supports governments to solve what were once seen as intractable problems, and by doing so, ensures this generation will be able to grow up to lead more fulfilled lives, while simultaneously building economic prosperity for themselves, their communities, and the globe.

NewGlobe’s high-touch, intensive professional development programs, along with integrated school management, teacher support, and assessment software, enable schools to succeed. NewGlobe works within state and national curriculum and syllabi, ensuring all children are empowered to learn their own history, and master local content, while being globally competitive in mathematics and languages. The science of behaviour change and the science of learning is at the foundation of all programming.

NewGlobe works with urgency because youth quickly becomes adulthood and relentlessly because improvement requires continuous problem-solving. NewGlobe is honoured to serve and to help rebuild trust in public systems.

NewGlobe’s work is all encompassing and will challenge you to use your full mind, and heart, each day. We need bright minds who want to be part of building a new globe -- a more equitable globe -- to join us.

IT Operations Department, Technology Group

IT Operations at NewGlobe is responsible for last mile delivery of technology, ensuring that everyone in all our territories, from school staff to executives, all have the functioning technology they need to excel at their jobs. IT Operations also oversees the technical infrastructure that supports and connects all of NewGlobe’s global offices, as well as the back-office systems and cloud platforms that power our resolution centres, finance teams, warehouses, and more.

Within the technology group, IT Operations also holds the distinction of being the only department with a dedicated presence in each of our operating territories, meaning that is also the key conduit and primary advocate for all aspects of Technology at NewGlobe, ensuring the work done by the other Technology departments delivers on its potential.

Our mandate is clear: deliver secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure so operations run flawlessly today and growth is enabled tomorrow. We work in collaborative teams across cloud operations, systems management, endpoint management, and core services, partnering closely with security functions, engineering, and stakeholders. Our focus is operational resilience, cost efficiency, and fit for purpose governance. The goal is simple: infrastructure that is invisible, always available, always secure, always ready to scale.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Cloud and Systems Operations Lead to play a pivotal role in our global technology operations team. You’ll own the infrastructure platforms and services that keep our organization secure, resilient, and scalable across multiple countries.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll set technical direction for cloud operations, systems management, and UEM, while ensuring flawless day-to-day service delivery. A core mission is to replace fragmented, site-by-site infrastructure security solutions (like isolated firewalls or local consoles) with unified, centrally managed platforms that deliver consistency, efficiency, and governance.

But this isn’t just about keeping the lights on, it’s about building for scale and speed. You’ll lay the rails so Level 2 support and application teams can run the trains without friction. You’ll modernize infrastructure, embed observability and automation, and create resilient foundations that empower product and software teams to move faster, safer, and with confidence.

We also have an ambition to align more closely with the CIS-18 governance framework, continuously strengthening our infrastructure standards and the tools that enable our teams to work effectively. At the heart of this role is one simple driver: making things run better today than they did yesterday.

What You Will Do

  • Lead global cloud and systems operations, setting direction and defining best practices.
  • Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure in AWS (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, ELB, Route 53, CloudWatch, EBS) and contribute to broader multi-cloud strategy discussions with software teams and our solutions architect.
  • Administer and optimize Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows Server (2012–2022) environments, including patching, security hardening, and lifecycle upgrades.
  • Ensure on-premise infrastructure, including networks, firewalls, VPNs, switches, and connectivity, is resilient, standardised, and centrally governed.
  • Improve our identity and access posture and policies at the infrastructure layer in alignment with CIS-18 security governance ambitions.
  • Drive automation through Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and scripting (Bash, PowerShell, AWS CLI).
  • Advance observability and monitoring (CloudWatch, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog) to surface issues before they impact operations.
  • Develop and execute backup and disaster recovery strategies aligned with business continuity expectations.
  • Monitor and enforce system and network security standards for our firewalls, access controls and vulnerability management.
  • Collaborate with developers to support CI/CD pipelines and production stability.
  • Partner with L2 and Enterprise Applications support to align infrastructure with application administration.
  • Maintain documentation to support operational excellence, standard operating procedures, standards and our knowledgebase.
  • Relentlessly optimise infrastructure costs without compromising reliability or performance.

What You Should Have

  • 7+ years leading enterprise-scale cloud and infrastructure operations (compute, storage, networking, security).
  • Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP); strong AWS knowledge preferred (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, ELB, Route 53, CloudWatch, EBS).
  • Proven expertise with Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows Server (2012–2022) administration.
  • Expertise in infrastructure identity and access management (Active Directory, Group Policy, AWS IAM).
  • Hands-on experience with Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solutions for laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible), scripting (Bash, PowerShell, AWS CLI).
  • Experience with observability/monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
  • Proven disaster recovery and operational resilience experience.
  • Solid understanding of security operations (firewalls, segmentation, access controls, vulnerability remediation).
  • Strong collaboration skills with developers, DevOps and enterprise applications teams.
  • Track record in infrastructure cost management and optimization.
  • A proactive, confident approach, comfortable setting direction, defining best practices, and representing infrastructure operations to senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset that thrives in ambiguity, prioritises ruthlessly and executes with discipline.
