About the Role

As an Android Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in our dynamic short video platform, which is experiencing rapid growth. Your contributions will not only enhance user satisfaction but also drive meaningful monetization growth, making a real impact in this exciting landscape

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement innovative monetization features in our Android mobile app, focusing on video ad formats, content ads, and new monetization surfaces.
  • Collaborate closely with product and design teams to deliver a world-class ad experience for our users.
  • Develop and optimize ad-related features to ensure stability, performance, and scalability on the Android platform.
  • Contribute to the development of new vertical solutions and ad formats that drive advertiser engagement and maximize monetization opportunities for creators.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features under tight deadlines while ensuring maintainable and robust code.
  • Conduct performance analysis and continuously optimize the Android application for efficiency and speed.
  • Create detailed documentation to support best practices and maintainability across the codebase.

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in native Android development.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and strong object-oriented programming (OOP) design skills.
  • Proven ability to debug, understand, and maintain large and complex codebases.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • A passion for building consumer-facing products, with a focus on user experience and performance.
  • Experience in developing and optimizing mobile ad products is a significant plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building monetization products or video ad features.
  • Familiarity with ad tech, mediation platforms, or video content monetization.
  • A keen understanding of performance profiling and app optimization on Android devices.
  • Interest or experience in short video platforms and creator ecosystems.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is listed below. Pay may vary based on a number of factors including job-related skills, level, experience, geographic location and relevant education or training. At NewsBreak, we design our overall rewards package to attract top talents. Depending on the position, the role may also be eligible for discretionary bonus and options.
