JOB SUMMARY

NZXT is looking for an exceptional Lead Industrial Designer to add to our team. At NZXT, we are at the forefront of innovation in the PC components industry. Renowned for our award-winning designs, we are seeking a creative and experienced Lead Industrial Designer candidate who is able to comfortably work in a fast paced environment and also lead the design efforts for our Cooling and Motherboard product lines. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge solutions in the realm of computer components.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead Design for Cooling and Motherboard Products:
    * Take charge of industrial design and act as the primary voice for industrial design for our Cooling and Motherboard product lines.
    * Acquire comprehensive knowledge about other NZXT PC Components product lines and grasp their interdependencies.
    * Collaborate with counterparts overseeing different product lines to consistently explore and suggest better solutions.
  • Conceptualization and Design Development:
    * Generate and present innovative design solutions for new products.
    * Utilize sketching, form development, and 2D/3D visualization to communicate design concepts.
    * Ensure a seamless handoff of designs to engineering teams.
  • End-to-End Project Ownership:
    * Own the project lifecycle from conceptualization to production.
    * Proactively drive project progress through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    * Work closely with engineering, product management, and other teams to ensure successful product development.
    * Collaborate with design management and leadership to enhance design processes, methodologies, and design thinking at NZXT.
  • Supplier/Vendor Collaboration:
    * Communicate effectively with domestic and overseas suppliers/vendors to bring designs to life.
    * Oversee prototype reviews, tests, and validations.
  • Review, Test, and Validate Prototypes:
    * Conduct thorough reviews and testing of prototypes to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Market Insight and Innovation:
    * Stay abreast of customer and market needs to identify new design opportunities.
    * Propose design enhancements based on industry trends and user feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A BFA or BS in Industrial Design related field is a must.
  • Must have at least 8 years of working experience in Product/Industrial Design or Product Development.
  • Professional experience in consumer electronics and computer related fields is a must and PC Components is a plus.
  • At least 2 year of experience managing a team of industrial designers
  • Experience in PC components such as computer cases or cooling is a big plus.

  • Strong project management skills with proven track record of successful product launches
  • Knowledge of the PC gaming industry or related field is a plus.
  • Exceptional at sketching and product renderings.
  • Must display an eagerness to learn and a willingness to accept constructive criticism and thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, CMF and product development processes is a must.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks or ProE and Keyshot is an absolute must.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power-Point.
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Minimum travel required
  • Candidates MUST provide a portfolio or a personal website to be considered for this position.
  • This is a non-remote position.
