Job Title: New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager, Operations
Location: South China (Shenzhen / Dongguan / Huizhou Region)

Job Summary
As the New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager, you will be the primary operational leader, in close partnership with Engineering, guiding new product development from concept through the critical Design Verification Test (DVT) phase. You are the essential link between our global teams and our manufacturing ecosystem in the Pearl River Delta, the global heart of electronics production. You will ensure a seamless transition to our Production and Supplier Quality Management (SQM) teams, whom you will assist during production validation (PVT), manufacturing ramp, and ongoing mass production (MP) to ensure every product launch meets our exacting standards for quality, schedule, and cost.

Key Responsibilities
Pre-Work & Development:

  • Lead the operational assessment as part of the team evaluating and selecting new suppliers and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), conducting rigorous on-site audits of their technical capabilities, quality systems, and production readiness.
  • In close collaboration with Engineering, lead the operational engagement with ODMs to drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Cost (DFC) analyses. You will work as a partner to Engineering to fully understand the design intent and ensure it is optimized for production efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Drive the tooling and equipment strategy, overseeing design, procurement, and qualification trials to ensure all manufacturing assets meet program requirements for volume and quality.
  • Champion proactive quality planning by facilitating cross-functional Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities to identify and mitigate potential manufacturing risks before they occur.

Process Validation & Ramp-Up:

  • Serve as the operational leader, alongside Engineering, through EVT and DVT pilot builds, driving troubleshooting efforts and resolving production bottlenecks. You will then assist the Production and SQM teams during PVT and the initial manufacturing ramp, providing expert support to ensure a smooth handover and stable mass production.
  • Ensure manufacturing readiness by maintaining close collaboration with the Production and Supplier Quality Management (SQM) teams throughout the development cycle. This includes ensuring their understanding of the production line, SOPs, and test stations for a seamless handover.
  • Assure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all assembly and testing stations are fully verified and approved to ensure effectiveness, clarity and consistency.
  • Drive the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) with suppliers, ensuring all components and processes are fully qualified and documented prior to the handover to mass production.

Supplier & Quality Management:

  • Act as the primary technical and operational partner to our ODMs during the development phase, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • In partnership with the Supplier Quality Management (SQM) team, establish the initial quality control frameworks (IQC, IPQC, OQC) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) plans to be used during mass production, ensuring a clear handover of quality ownership.
  • Establish and monitor key supplier performance indicators (KPIs) for quality, delivery, and cost through the NPI phases, conducting regular reviews and driving corrective action plans (CAPA).

Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Serve as the central point of communication for all NPI operational activities, providing clear and concise status updates, risk assessments, and KPI reports to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Manage NPI project timelines, budgets, and deliverables through the DVT phase, ensuring alignment with the overall product roadmap and business objectives.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive experience in a New Product Introduction (NPI), Manufacturing Engineering, or Supplier Quality Engineering role within the consumer electronics, PC components, or a related high-volume manufacturing industry.
  • Absolute professional fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
  • Demonstrated expertise in applying DFM/DFA principles to influence product design and reduce cost.
  • Proven, hands-on experience with core quality methodologies such as FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Deep familiarity with the manufacturing ecosystem in South China's Pearl River Delta (Shenzhen, Dongguan, Huizhou), with a proven track record of managing and developing ODM/OEM relationships.
  • Ability to travel to China supplier facilities and to supplier facilities in south asia.

Preferred Qualifications & Competencies:

  • An advanced degree (Master's or MBA) is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
  • Experience with specific PC component manufacturing (e.g., PC cases/chassis, AIO liquid coolers, power supplies, fans).
  • Working knowledge of the latest industry standards (e.g., ATX 3.1, PCIe 5.1).
  • Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Quality Management (QMS) systems, as well as CAD software (for viewing/analysis).
