What You'll Do Guide payroll processing and provide expert recommendations across the companyLead payroll reconciliations and system integration audits, spotting trends and resolving discrepancies to keep the team audit-ready.Support timely responses to payroll and IRS tax notices; assist with employer registrations under federal, state, local, and Canadian provincial lawOwn payroll-adjacent compliance areas including 401(k) match calculations, EEO reporting, and workers' compensation requirements across multiple statesPrepare payroll and finance reports (gross payroll, hours worked, PTO accrual, tax and benefit deductions) for budgeting and internal/external auditsAdminister variable compensation programs, including Annual and Executive Incentive Plans, Profit Sharing Plan, Merit Increase Program, and 401(k) Company MatchMaintain data integrity across wages, benefits, 401(k), and PTO, documenting processes clearly for consistency and audit readinessChampion process improvements through system optimization and automationSupport payroll, HR, and operations during mergers & acquisitionsProvide backup support for payroll processing, including administering and committing payroll runs What You Bring Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, or related field (equivalent experience considered)4+ years of multi-state payroll experience with deep knowledge of payroll rules, regulations, and compliance across North AmericaProven ability to own complex problems end-to-end, with strong critical thinking and a bias toward practical solutionsProficiency with HRIS/payroll systems, Dayforce and reporting tools strongly preferredExceptional attention to detail, documentation habits, and time management in a fast-moving, small-company environmentStrong communication skills across all levels of the organizationDiscretion in handling confidential informationComfort thriving in a remote/hybrid environment with camera-on virtual meetingsSome travel to our corporate office may be required (10%) Availability to work Eastern Time zone hours is required What We Offer: Full benefits starting Day 1: Medical, Dental, and Vision401(k) with company matchUnlimited Flex Time Off plus 10 company-paid holidaysProfessional development programs and tuition assistanceHome office equipment stipendEmployee resource groups and exclusive employee discounts
