Summary
This role serves as a key resource for the Senior Product Owner, taking directions to contribute to the success and continuous improvement of the product. The Junior Product Owner supports the development and execution of product initiatives by assisting in strategy, prioritizing work, analyzing requirements, and ensuring smooth implementation of enhancements that improve customer experiences and operational efficiency.
Essential Duties

Assists the Senior Product Owner in organizing and managing product-related functions, acting as a collaborative partner and resource for the product team while learning and growing within the role.

Participates in the ideation process; generates and documents detailed requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for product and process enhancements.

Aids in the planning and facilitation of Agile ceremonies, such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups, and assists in stakeholder prioritization to ensure alignment across teams with the Senior Product Owner's vision and goals.

Contributes to the development and execution of testing plans by reviewing and verifying outputs against acceptance criteria, providing actionable feedback, and collaborating with developers and testers to ensure high-quality deliverables and alignment with product requirements.
Job Duties

Assists the Senior Product Owner in gathering and managing requirements for technical projects, ensuring alignment with business needs and goals.

Supports functional testing by reviewing and verifying development outputs against acceptance criteria, providing constructive feedback to the team, and demonstrating leadership by guiding developers and testers toward high-quality solutions.

Participates in reviews with internal teams throughout the product lifecycle to ensure alignment on solution requirements and product discovery/definition.

Builds strong relationships with development teams, internal groups, and customers to support timely and effective delivery of software features and defect resolution.

Serves as a liaison between the business and delivery teams, consistently representing the customers' and stakeholders' perspectives.

Actively supports product design efforts, including gathering and analyzing feedback on concepts and prototypes.

Collaborates with Client Success and the MAPS product team to provide detailed analysis and requirements for enhancements, maintenance, and program-related changes.

Assists the Senior Product Owner in project planning, contributing to schedule, scope, and resource management.

Participates in Agile ceremonies, including standups, retrospectives, and sprint demos, working closely with Agile teams to ensure successful execution.

Helps manage grooming sessions and maintains Sprint backlog-related documents.

Coordinates Jira needs related to Sprints, Backlogs, and releases, ensuring accurate and efficient tracking.

Prioritizes and reviews stakeholder feedback and new requirements, escalating appropriately for resolution.

Demonstrates sound judgment in documenting needs and changes, considering technical capabilities, financial boundaries, and business priorities.

Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

Respectfully takes direction from Director.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and 2 to 4 years’ related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience working for as a Business Analyst, Project Manager, or Product Owner in HCIT following agile development methodologies.
Certificates, Licenses and/or Registrations
CSPO, Pragmatic Institute, or PMP certifications preferred.
Travel Requirement
This position requires minimal (up to 0-5% of the position) travel and may include overnights.
