Purpose (of the role):
As a Technical Engineer I – Application Interfaces working with the implementation team, you will deliver implementation and/or consulting to projects to achieve successful on-time projects with client satisfaction. As an integral part of this team, you will be primarily responsible for developing, installing, configuring, and supporting application and instrument interfaces, including file-based interfaces, data stream integrations, and translator deployments across the Clinisys Laboratory Solutions (CLS) platform.
Job Summary:
1. Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities
· Execute application-level tasks assigned through structured intake systems (e.g. ServiceNow), ensuring full adherence to the instructions, context, and acceptance criteria provided within each request.
· Interpret and apply detailed work instructions, templates, and supporting documentation to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes across repeatable configuration activities.
· Operate within a process-driven delivery framework, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with defined service levels and quality benchmarks.
· Follow established escalation pathways when task inputs, requirements, or instructions are unclear or incomplete, ensuring risks to quality or timelines are proactively managed.
· Develop and maintain application and instrument interfaces using C#, PL/SQL, and integration frameworks for CLS implementations.
· Build and implement file-based and data stream interfaces, including ingestion, mapping, transformation, acknowledgements, and near real-time data exchange.
· Install, configure, and maintain instrument translators, proxy services, and integration components to enable seamless system connectivity.
· Work with HL7, APIs, and CLS-specific protocols to ensure reliable interoperability across systems.
· Develop and optimise parser logic for data transformation, validation, and ingestion into CLS platforms.
· Leverage AI-first engineering practices (e.g., Copilot) to automate interface development, data mapping, testing, and deployment, while building reusable frameworks and repositories.
· Perform end-to-end testing, support requirements gathering, drive process improvements, and ensure high stakeholder satisfaction through scalable and standardised interface delivery.
2. Skills needed to be successful
· Ability to independently manage multiple interface implementations while prioritising competing demands.
· Strong expertise in interface technologies (HL7, APIs, file-based, data streams) and laboratory workflows (LIMS/LIS).
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills with strong client engagement capability.
· Proven experience in mentoring teams and leveraging automation tools with AI-assisted engineering practices (mandatory).
3. Required Experience & Education
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Healthcare, Life Sciences or equivalent relevant work experience
· 3+ years’ experience working with a LIS or LIMS system
3+ years’ experience with PL/SQL query writing (Oracle DB Knowledge preferred)
3+ years’ experience with C# programming
3+ years’ experience in:
o Interface development (file-based, data stream, HL7/API integrations)
o Parser development and interface installations
o Instrument translator setup and deployment
o

5. Shift Timings:
• This is a permanent role comprising a five-day week with shifts to cover our US and UK hours from Monday to Friday. For India these are UK shifts from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST.
