Paysafe is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Regulatory Affairs specializing in financial services to join our team. Reporting to the SVP Global Regulatory, Compliance and Enterprise Risk, the Director will play a pivotal role in navigating regulatory landscapes across the region, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic guidance on regulatory matters impacting Paysafe's operations in North America. This role is based in Jacksonville, Florida where you will have a blend of three in office days and two remote working days during the work week.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance: Lead regulatory compliance efforts for Paysafe's operations in North America, with a focus on the United States market. Monitor regulatory developments, interpret regulatory requirements, and assess their impact on the business. Work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer for North America to develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

Regulatory Guidance: Provide expert advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on regulatory and compliance requirements in the United States. Interpret complex regulatory issues, assess risks, and recommend actionable solutions to support business objectives while maintaining compliance.

License and Permit Management: Oversee the process of obtaining and maintaining necessary licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals for Paysafe's products and services in the United States. Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure timely and compliant filings.

Regulatory Projects: Lead or contribute to cross-functional regulatory projects, such as new product launches, market expansions, or regulatory remediation efforts. Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, compliance, risk management, and product development, to drive successful project outcomes.

Risk Management: Assess regulatory risks associated with Paysafe's business activities in the United States and develop risk mitigation strategies as needed. Implement controls and processes to monitor regulatory compliance and address issues proactively.

Government Engagement: Support liaison with regulatory authorities and agencies in the United States. Respond to regulatory inquiries and requests for information as needed.


  • Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, or legal roles within the financial services industry, with a focus on payments, fintech, or e-commerce
  • Strong understanding of financial services regulation in the United States, including knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Proven track record of managing regulatory compliance initiatives and providing expert guidance on regulatory matters
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex regulatory issues, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
