What you will do:

  • Designing and deploying dynamically scalable, self-healing applications and infrastructure on AWS and hybrid cloud environments;
  • Define infrastructure using IaaS automation tools (Terraform, Helm, CloudFormation, CDK, Ansible);
  • Administer and develop containerization software (built around Docker) and a containerization platform to manage application configurations and deployments using AWS EKS;
  • Plan and migrate on-premises infrastructure and applications to AWS;
  • Build and maintain development environments, deployment scripts and end-to-end pipelines to cover both application and infrastructure lifecycles;
  • Support monitoring and observability (deployment and runtime logs, application performance) – cloud resources, managed services, orchestration platform, in-house built applications;
  • Suggest architecture and process improvements, based on company needs and technical roadmap;
  • System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains;
  • Coaching junior engineers in DevOps patterns and practices;
  • Manage changes and ongoing tasks in an ITSM system, ensure quality outcomes related to defined KPIs and security standards;
  • Participate in rotational on-call to support our platforms and infrastructure.

To be successful you need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Cloud Engineer/DevOps role, preferably with AWS background using a broad range of products (EC2, RDS, ELB, EKS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, TGW);
  • 2+ years of experience with container orchestration systems – vanilla Kubernetes or a managed Kubernetes service (EKS or similar);
  • Application delivery within an on-premises and/or a cloud-based development environment utilizing automated build techniques and enabling software artifacts to be part of a Continuous Integration (CI) framework;
  • Experience with build and deployment automation tooling (project uses Gitlab) and infrastructure automation tools to manage software configuration of many hosts across several different environments and locations;
  • Strong scripting/automation skills within background in at least one programming language;
  • Experience administrating and using version control systems;
  • Strong knowledge in Linux operating system;
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls);
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Considered an advantage:

  • Experience managing cloud based microservice environments;
  • Experience with hybrid setups that share workloads between public cloud and on-premises resources;
  • Object-oriented programming skills;
  • Previous experience in a role within operations, R&D or development experience;
  • Proven track record as coach and mentor to junior engineers.
