The Merchant Risk Strategy Manager is an integral part of Paysafe’s Merchant Risk Monitoring team and will play a strategic and vital role within the team and the next transformation phase. The ideal candidate will possess a keen ability to think outside the box, identifying gaps in current processes and devising transformative, automated solutions. You will play a critical role in moving to a sophisticated system approach on a common risk platform and standardize our risk process across the Payment Processing business.

How we work:
Our preferred arrangement is for the job holder to follow a hybrid model, spending an average of three days per week at our office location. The office is located in Gresham Street next to St Paul’s cathedral with easy access and transport links via St Paul’s, Bank, Cannon Street, City Thameslink, Liverpool Street, Farringdon, Mansion House.
The impact you will have:
- Identifying and mitigating risks: Conducting thorough risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities within the merchant Risk team.
- Working closely with the Senior Director of Merchant Risk Monitoring and his leadership team to build the overall strategy of the team.
- Developing risk strategies: Formulating and implementing comprehensive risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks.
- Analysing Data: Utilising data analysis techniques to interpret large datasets, identifying trends and insights to inform risk strategies.
- Tracking KPIs: Developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of risk management initiatives.
- Engaging Stakeholders: Collaborating with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment and supporting for risk management strategies.
- Improving Processes: Identifying gaps in current processes and systems and develop plans to address and improve these areas.
- Automating Solutions: Designing and inputting automated solutions to enhance risk management efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitoring Systems: Working closely with the merchant risk monitoring team to ensure effective monitoring and management of merchant risks.
- Communicating Findings: Effectively communicating risk findings, recommendations, and action plans to all relevant stakeholders.
What we’re looking for:
- A bachelor's degree in an analytical field, economics, or business is required.
- Five plus (5+) years of experience in risk, credit underwriting or dispute/chargeback resolution or collections in Acquiring / Bankcard payments.
- Previous experience in a strategy or transformation role.
- Proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets.
- Strong experience in developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
- Hands-on experience with data analysis tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with SQL is a plus, though not essential.
- Familiarity with analysing data using BI dashboards, like Tableau or PowerBI.
- Experience in identifying and addressing gaps in current processes and systems.
- Strong communication skills to represent the needs and concerns of the merchant risk monitoring team within the broader organization.
- High level ability to calculate potential losses and exposure and articulate findings to both management and merchant.
- Knowledge of various card brand (VI, MC, AX, DI) rules and regulations.
- Strong experience with risk systems, understanding underlining concepts.
Additional Skills:
- Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional partners and management to define strategies that balance risk and return.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Able to multi-task and work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Be comfortable to work with teams in various regions and across different time zones.
- Must be comfortable performing reviews on accounts and websites that may contain sensitive content.
