What to Expect:
- Ensure that the capitalization process is compliant with IAS 38, Intangible assets.
- Develops an understanding of the Company's capitalization policies while performing the duties of the position.
- Preparation of accounting assessments to demonstrate that the internally generated intangible assets meet all capitalization criteria.
- Review and assess the developers` roles and efforts to assess on the correct accounting treatment, considering the different stages of the development process.
- Responsible for the monthly calculation and reporting of the capitalization, following the established process.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of capitalization calculation to the postings in the accounting software.
- Ensure that the implemented SOX controls regarding the capitalization process are followed.
- Assist in providing information and supporting the external audit process regarding capitalization.
- Assist in meeting external and internal reporting deadlines whilst maintaining the integrity of information.
- Assist in impairment and amortization reviews.
- Review, assess and recommend improvements to capitalization policy and procedures ensuring appropriate documentation is in place.
- Participate and/or lead finance projects for system improvements, reporting optimization and other ad-hoc initiatives.
- Proactively escalates issues for the effective performance of the capitalization process.
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in accounting, Finance or Economics.
- Part-qualified ACCA or equivalent.
- At least 3 years’ experience in an audit or commercial environment.
- Strong IFRS and accounting principles knowledge.
- Ability to interpret and apply accounting principles to various scenarios.
- Cognitive and numerical literacy and strong data analytical skills.
- Excellent advanced Excel skills and experience in databases for reporting.
- Fluent English is essential.
- Hands-on, proactive, takes initiative in problem solving and can work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Close attention to detail and an independent manner of working and can-do positive mindset.
- An excellent team player with the ability to build strong relationships, working across functions and with teams around the Globe.
- Ability to understand end to end processes, identify improvement & simplification opportunities and design and implement standardized solutions.
