What to Expect:

  • Focused primarily on servicing Paysafe’s Digital Wallets and Acquiring products, ensuring they meet all relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Paysafe’s Digital Wallets offer consumers a secure, fast, and easy way to store and use their funds online. These wallets support multiple currencies, enabling global transactions and providing users with a seamless payment experience across different platforms. Paysafe’s Acquiring solutions provide businesses with the ability to accept payments from a variety of methods, including card payments, bank transfers, and alternative payment methods.
  • Acting as primary point of contact and providing comprehensive legal advice with a focus on contract, commercial, corporate and payment services law to both internal and external stakeholders servicing the Digital Wallets and Acquiring products.
  • Provide advice to the business teams on the applicable legal and regulatory framework in the relevant territories (with focus on e-money, digital wallets, payment gateways, payment processing and acquring).
  • Active management, drafting, negotiation, review and revision of contracts and terms & conditions
  • Creation, review and revision of template legal agreements and documents to best adapt them to business needs, to mitigate risks, to reflect fair and appropriate limitations on legal liability and to assure compliance with Paysafe policies and applicable legal requirements
  • Assisting internal departments and project teams in achieving corporate objectives effectively and in compliance with applicable laws, procedures and policies (e.g., product initiatives, marketing and sponsorships)
  • Collaborating on and leading projects with other departments and functions to ensure compliance due to changes in applicable legal and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborating with and supervision of outside counsel in various jurisdictions
  • Providing support on procurement, intercompany and corporate secretarial matters
  • Active collaboration within the Paysafe legal team and assisting with the know-how, professional development and knowledge management needs of the Legal Department.

Your Profile:

  • Degree in legal science or commercial law required; bar exam not required; international experience is an advantage
  • 2-5 years’ specialized professional experience in commercial context and drafting
  • Experience in the fields of commercial law/contractual law and e-commerce; strong preference for payment services experience
  • Experience of cross-border and multi-jurisdictional contracts
  • Proven experience in these areas is essential: financial services (ideally in fintech or payment processing industries), drafting and negotiating commercial agreements of different complexities, conducting legal research in emerging legal fields, and expertise in commercial and corporate law.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; command of another language may also be an advantage.
  • Superb drafting and communication skills. Candidate must be able to negotiate and draft in English without assistance
  • Hands-on mentality & an international mind-set
  • Proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge in working with legal e-libraries, contract management and repository tools such as Thomson Reuters – HighQ, Practical Law and LexisNexis will be a significant advantage
