Role Summary:

The Head of Compliance will lead the regional compliance program in North Amerca and LATAM, ensuring adherence to both regulatory requirements in the region and the company’s global compliance standards. This pivotal role is responsible for designing and overseeing the execution of effective compliance programs that integrate seamlessly with business operations, enabling growth while maintaining regulatory integrity. The role also ensures consistency and standardization of compliance programs, fostering a strong culture of integrity, accountability, and operational excellence.

As the regional compliance leader, the role involves both strategic and operational oversight, ensuring compliance programs are not only well-structured but also practical, risk-based, and aligned with business needs. This includes developing and implementing governance structures, managing regulatory relationships, leading regulatory examinations, and ensuring that compliance policies are effectively executed across the region. The role requires a deep understanding of the business, allowing for the design of compliance programs that support operational efficiency while meeting regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regional Compliance Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership for all compliance functions across the region, ensuring adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and Paysafe’s global compliance standards.
  • Serve as the primary regulatory contact for regional regulators, leading regulatory examinations and compliance interactions.
  • Oversee the implementation and execution of regional compliance policies, risk assessments, and compliance monitoring programs.
  • Ensure alignment between regional compliance initiatives and the company’s global compliance strategy.
  • Foster a culture of compliance excellence, ensuring the compliance function is viewed as a business enabler while maintaining regulatory rigor.

2. Business Advisory & Compliance Integration

  • Work closely with business, product, and legal teams to support compliant business expansion across the region.
  • Provide compliance guidance on new product development, market entry, and regulatory risks.
  • Ensure compliance policies and procedures are practical, risk-based, and enable operational efficiency.

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • Extensive experience in compliance leadership, with a proven track record of developing and managing compliance programs in highly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing regulatory relationships, including leading regulatory examinations and responding to regulatory inquiries across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience in global organizations, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and align regional compliance programs with global frameworks.
  • Strong operational and strategic compliance acumen, ensuring compliance programs support both regulatory requirements and business operations.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing compliance teams, fostering collaboration across regional and global functions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working closely with regulators, executive leadership, and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, law, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Significant experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, or financial crime within a multinational organization.
  • Demonstrable track record of leading compliance teams, managing regulatory exams, and working with regulators across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Spanish language proficiency required.
