We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Consumer teams. In this role, you will lead and grow a high-performing engineering team while staying deeply engaged in technical decision-making. You will help design and deliver sophisticated, scalable applications that power our consumer facing infrastructure and various wallets, partnering closely with engineers and architects to ensure high-quality architecture, reliability, and performance. You will coach and develop engineers, set clear technical direction, and lead by example - fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.

What to expect:

  • Lead up to two engineering teams ( 10-20 engineers) across multiple locations - owning hiring, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, and hands-on career development.
  • Build strong team leadership and culture, fostering collaboration, engagement, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Own delivery of modern technical solutions that meet business needs - balancing timelines, quality, reliability, and product requirements.
  • Guide technical design and implementation of features, ensuring sound architecture, scalability, and alignment with industry best practices.
  • Communicate clearly on progress, risks, and trade-offs with key stakeholders, including product managers and executive leadership.
  • Set and evolve a meaningful team vision and technical direction in partnership with product, stakeholders, other engineering managers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Promote agile delivery and champion engineering practices that improve team efficiency and enable rapid, safe iteration.
  • Drive adoption of tools and processes that support high engineering standards (e.g., code quality, observability, security, incident readiness).
  • Collaborate actively with peers and leaders across the organization to align priorities and remove delivery constraints.
  • Occasional travel.

To be successful you need to:

  • Stay curious and hands-on with technology, tracking what’s new, what’s useful, and what’s scalable in production.
  • Use AI tools pragmatically to improve delivery speed, quality, and engineering effectiveness across the team.
  • Enjoy developing people - hiring, coaching, mentoring, and creating clear growth paths.
  • Lead with empowerment and accountability, with proven ability to coach, motivate, and inspire high-performing engineers.
  • Have a track record of delivering successful products in a fast-paced environment, balancing quality with time-to-market.
  • Excel at stakeholder management, partnering effectively with product managers, designers, and engineering leaders across teams.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences, adapting your message as needed.
  • Bring strong knowledge of architecture, optimization, scalability, reliability, and security in modern systems.
  • Have deep understanding of the SDLC and engineering best practices, and apply them consistently (planning, delivery, operations, continuous improvement).

Any of the following is considered a plus:

  • Experience in a hands-on technical lead or software architecture role, with demonstrated ownership of system design and technical direction.
  • Background in fintech, payments, or regulated environments.
  • Experience leading distributed and multilingual teams.
  • Be up to date with the latest security practices (e.g., tokenization, encryption, PCI-aligned controls).
  • Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing (e.g., OpenTracing concepts), and/or the C4 model for architecture visualization.
  • Strong production experience with more than one programming language (TS, Python, Java, C#, PHP).
