Summary
The Director, Indirect Sourcing – Facilities & Travel is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for all facilities management and travel-related categories, with the expertise and ability to support other indirect spend areas as required. This role ensures cost optimization, supplier innovation, and favorable business terms that deliver measurable value to the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for facilities (maintenance, janitorial, security, office supplies, real estate services, utilities, etc.) and travel (air, hotel, ground transportation, travel management companies)
- Support sourcing for other indirect categories (e.g., IT, Marketing, HR, Finance, Risk and Compliance, Professional Services) as required by business needs
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities and innovative solutions
- Negotiate contracts inclusive of favorable business terms such as working capital optimization, performance-based incentives, and risk-sharing mechanisms
- Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with business stakeholders
- Manage strategic relationships with facilities and travel service providers, as well as suppliers in other indirect categories as needed
- Work in concert with Vendor Management and Stakeholder community to implement supplier performance management
- Partner with internal organizations (Finance, Operations, Technology, Legal, Facilities, and Travel) to align sourcing strategies with business objectives
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support governance frameworks
Measurements
- Cost Savings: Achieve annual cost reduction targets (e.g., hard and soft savings based on annual target)
- Working Capital Impact: Improve cash flow through optimized payment terms and discount programs
- Supplier Performance: Maintain compliance and quality standards via SLAs and other measurements
- Contract Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to negotiated terms
- Innovation: Introduce supplier strategies (e.g., consolidations, new suppliers that improve client and/or stakeholder experience)
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Via net-promoter scores and other tools, receive positive feedback from business community on sourcing expertise, partnership, and responsiveness
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with at least 5 years in facilities, travel, or indirect category leadership
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, including working capital strategies
- Experience managing facilities and travel categories, with the ability to support other indirect categories
- Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent)
- Professional certifications: CPSM, CSCP, or equivalent
- Working knowledge of use of AI
