Position Summary

Junior Software Engineer — Mobile Device Connectivity (Android)
The Perfecto Mobile team owns the connectivity layer between Android devices — both real physical devices and emulators — and the Perfecto platform, the bridge that lets thousands of customers reach, control, and automate those devices in the cloud. We work close to the metal: device protocols, non-public APIs, and the services that keep both real devices and emulators reliably online.
We’re expanding the team and looking for a Junior Software Engineer at the start of their career to help us make miracles. You’ll grow across both Java backend services and Android/native device connectivity, with mentorship from senior engineers every step of the way.

Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain Java server-side services that manage, monitor, and control Android real devices and emulators at scale.
    • Work hands-on with the Android system and AOSP (Android Open Source Project) — ADB, device instrumentation, and device communication protocols.
    • Research and integrate non-public APIs and device behaviors to unlock new product capabilities.
    • Contribute to tooling that keeps devices healthy, connected, and available.
    • Debug real-world issues across the full stack — from a Java service down to device-level behavior.
    • Collaborate with a global team through code review, pairing, and continuous learning.

Requirements

    • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
    • 0–2 years of experience — recent graduates welcome; academic or personal projects count.
    • Solid foundation in Java and object-oriented design.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and genuine curiosity about how systems work under the hood.
    • Self-motivated, independent, and self-managed, with a fast-learning mindset and a strong team-player attitude.
    • Good English for reading technical documentation and collaborating with a global team.

    Nice to Have (Advantages)
    • Exposure to Android development or the Android platform.
    • Familiarity with Android internals, the Android system, or AOSP — ADB, device instrumentation, or the Android framework.
    • Any C / C++ experience.
    • Understanding of client-server / networking concepts.
    • Experience building or consuming backend APIs and services.
    • Curiosity about reverse-engineering, protocols, or low-level systems.

All employees are expected to demonstrate AI fluency appropriate to their role and level, including responsible use of AI tools, sound judgment, and adherence to company AI governance and security policy standards.
