The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Analyst to join our Commercial and Planning Team. This role offers broad exposure across three sub-functions: Commercial Decision Support, FP&A, and Investor Relations. As you grow your knowledge of the business, you’ll have the chance to specialise and advance in your chosen sub-function.

Your Responsibilities

Update and maintain operational and company data visualisation dashboards, and prepare ongoing functional reports.
Take ownership of the company Financial Operating Model, including; Actualizing for results, Performing scenario and sensitivity analysis to understand the key drivers impacting the business, Overlaying company plans and e-forecasting the company trajectory.
Manage functional spend against budget and re-forecast expenditures as needed.
Partner with various business functions to understand data requirements and improve business reporting.
Collaborate with Senior Commercial Analysts to provide decision support to key stakeholders using data and analytical tools.
Support development of all communication materials outlining the Pet Circle strategic, operational and financial narrative to the Board and investors
Conduct or leverage analysis on industry, market, and company trends for use in commercial decisions and communications.

What Success Looks Like

Demonstrating a keen eagerness to learn, absorb information, and drive your career in finance.
Collaborating effectively with different functions and the broader Finance team to add value.
Working autonomously with limited guidance, exercising good judgement, and being comfortable with imperfect information and inputs.
Well organised, highly motivated, commercially oriented and an eye for detail that ensures delivers are high quality and articulated clearly

Your Ideal Skills and Experience

Experience in business partnering and working in a cross-functional team environment.
Strong skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint (or Google Office equivalents).
A self-starter who is results-oriented, decisive, and resilient, with the ability to respond and adapt to an agile environment.
Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
Experienced in financial modelling with an ability to research and analyse complex issues
Tertiary qualification with 1-2 years of relevant experience - ideal for someone early in their career or someone looking to break into the Commercial Finance space

Role Location

At Pet Circle we believe that collaboration and team connection is key for success. This role will be based in Sydney with a blended working arrangement of up to 4 days per week in our pet friendly offices and the remainder working from home (or the office, if you prefer!) Our working arrangements and your required office day are subject to change in line with business requirements.
