IndiaWho we are
We're Redis. We built the product that runs the fast apps our world runs on. (If you checked the weather, used your credit card, or looked at your flight status online today, you’re welcome.) At Redis, you’ll work with the fastest, simplest technology in the business—whether you’re building it, telling its story, or selling it to our 10,000+ worldwide customers. We’re creating a faster world with simpler experiences. You in?
Why You'll Love This Job
- You love turning messy operational data into crisp, trustworthy narratives leadership can act on.
- You enjoy building high-quality Tableau/HEX assets end-to-end—data sources, models, and dashboards—with strong governance.
- You get to shape how Jira Software and Jira Service Management (JSM) are used across Cloud Ops—designing dashboards, automation, and configurations/integrations that teams rely on every day.
- You thrive on autonomy: minimal instruction, high ownership, and the creative freedom to invent new metric approaches.
- You want your work to directly improve reliability—shorter MTTx, higher availability, and a clear cost per minute of downtime story.
What You Will Do
Operational Metrics & Modeling
Ability to apply business level perspectives on metrics. Define, calculate, and automate MTTx (MTTA/MTTD/MTTR/MTTM), availability/SLA, incident volumes, and downtime cost per minute.
HEX and Tableau Expert
Design, build, and administer in HEX and Tableau (Desktop + Server/Cloud): projects, permissions, certified data sources, extract schedules, performance tuning, and content governance.
Jira/JSM Analytics & Workflow Automation
Design, build, and maintain Jira Software and Jira Service Management (JSM) dashboards to provide clear visibility into SLAs, RCAs, backlog health, and operational performance. Develop and optimize Jira/JSM automation rules and workflows to streamline intake, routing, escalations, and lifecycle transitions. Configure and continuously refine Jira boards (Kanban/Scrum).
Excel Power User Work
Build robust Excel/Power Query/Power Pivot models (dynamic arrays, scenarios; light VBA where useful) for rapid analysis and exec-ready packets.
Data Sourcing & Shaping
Write performant SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions); partner with data/platform teams on views/extracts and refresh logic.
Insight to Action
Investigate anomalies, surface trends, run experiments, and recommend changes that reduce MTTR, noise, and incident cost.
Quality & Documentation
Maintain metric definitions, lineage, validation checks, and change logs; implement alerts for stale/broken pipelines. Create Atlassian process docs
Stakeholder Partnership
Collaborate with Incident Management, SRE, Support, and Finance to align definitions, cadence, and decision-making.
What You Will Need
- Experience Level: 4–8+ years in analytics, including operational/incident metrics; demonstrated independence and end-to-end delivery.
- HEX experience at a creation level
- Tableau Expertise: Proven creator and maintenance
- Jira/Atlassian Expertise: Proven admin/power user experience designing boards, workflows and automation rules
- Excel Mastery: Power Query/Power Pivot, advanced formulas/arrays; ability to translate ambiguous asks into durable, auditable models.
- SQL Fluency: Comfort with large datasets and performance-minded queries (window functions, CTEs).
- Operational Analytics: Hands-on with MTTx, availability/SLA, incident hygiene, paging effectiveness, and financial impact modeling.
- Communication: Clear data storytelling; can present to execs and guide ops teams to action.
Tools & Technologies (typical)
Tableau (Desktop & Server/Cloud), Atlassian (Jira/JSM) Admin, Excel (Power Query/Power Pivot), SQL (Snowflake/BigQuery/Postgres—varies), Squadcast/PagerDuty, Git, modern ELT/warehouse stack.
Extra – Great If You Have
- Mid to Senior level experience with HEX (a Tableau competitor)
- Python for analytics (pandas) or dbt familiarity; Airflow or similar orchestration.
- Experience quantifying cost of downtime tied to customer tier/region/SLA and rolling to OKRs/budgets.
- Exposure to SRE/NOC workflows, Datadog/Prometheus/Grafana, ServiceNow/Jira/Zendesk integrations.
- Data viz best practices, accessibility, parameterized dashboards, row-level security, and semantic layer/metric store concepts.
