Redis Cloud is the fastest and easiest way to consume Redis databases as SaaS. Redis provides cloud solutions that enable our customers to securely and easily provision and use Redis databases. We’re looking for a Team lead to lead the development of all these offerings we provide to our customers. While being very technical, this role also brings a solid business view to how we build our cloud services and how we expose them to our customers.

As a Software Team Lead, you will lead a team responsible for developing and managing the business layer that provides various models to our customers - from a simple database running on a fixed compute node, all the way to a worry free serverless solution. The team build the backend services that enable the various offerings to our customers.

The role interacts with many parts of the organization - product management to define our offerings, cloud operations to maintain the services and other engineering groups that build the infrastructure to enable it all.

Our ideal candidate is a strong individual with vast experience in large-scale SaaS solutions, based on microservices architecture, who is involved across the entire product lifecycle, from planning to design and implementation, has strong leadership skills, and a can-do attitude.

What You Will Do:

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of backend-oriented developers working on a large-scale, distributed cloud system.
  • Work with various stakeholders to define and implement various business models (offerings/services) to let our customers choose the best option suitable for their needs.
  • Design and implement backend services that build, monitor and maintain our various cloud services.
  • Actively participate in the coding activities of the team (not just code reviews).
  • Setting a high standards for design, coding and tooling for the team.
  • Driving and adopting the usage of AI tools to accelerate the development of these services.
  • Collaborating with our cloud operations group to understand their needs and provide automated tools to address them.

What You Will Need:

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience in developing backend applications
  • 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a proven track record of managing and mentoring developers.
  • Expertise in backend languages like Python, Java, Go.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), API design, and best practices for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both within and outside the team.
  • Experience running complex SaaS offerings with deep awareness and understanding of production environments.
  • Passion for high-quality code and keeping up with new technologies.
