Our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) environment sits at the core of this transformation—and we’re seeking a hands-on technical leader to drive its architecture, development, and optimization.

Role Overview:

The Technical Director, Finance Systems is the senior technical authority for our Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations platform. This leader owns the architecture, development standards, integrations, and technical delivery supporting RedSail’s enterprise finance capabilities.

You will lead a team of developers, partnering closely with Finance, Data, and Product leaders to design and implement solutions that enable financial scalability, accuracy, and insight. This is a role for an experienced F&O architect and developer who combines deep technical expertise with a strong understanding of core finance processes (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, etc.).

Key Duties

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• • Serve as the architectural owner and technical authority for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Define and evolve the F&O technical roadmap, architecture standards, and development patterns.
  • Ensure system scalability, performance optimization, and adherence to Microsoft best practices.
  • Lead architecture reviews and code design sessions for F&O extensions, integrations, and ISV solutions.

Development Management

• • Lead and mentor the F&O technical team (developers, QA, DevOps) in delivering secure, high-quality solutions.
  • Oversee end-to-end development lifecycle using LCS and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Establish and enforce standards for code quality, documentation, and release management.

Finance Systems Enablement

• • Partner directly with Finance leadership to translate functional requirements into robust, automated, and compliant solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance operations through system automation, data quality, and process optimization.
  • Design, implement, and support modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Budgeting, Fixed Assets, Procurement, and Project Accounting.

Integration & Data Strategy

• • Own the F&O integration strategy across RedSail’s ecosystem, including CRM (Dynamics 365 CE), Power Platform, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Collaborate with the data architecture team to ensure clean, consistent data structures for analytics, reporting, and compliance.
  • Lead solution design for API integrations, data synchronization, and event-driven architectures.

Governance & Quality

• • Ensure all solutions adhere to data governance, audit, and SOX control requirements.
  • Evaluate and implement automation tools (Power Automate, Logic Apps, etc.) to streamline finance processes.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

• • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing within Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O.
  • Proven experience leading technical development teams in an ERP environment.

Technical Expertise

• • Deep understanding of F&O architecture, X++ development, extensions, data entities, and integration frameworks.
  • Experience managing end-to-end deployment pipelines using LCS and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong grasp of data modeling, financial reporting, and analytics enablement in ERP ecosystems.
  • Hands-on experience integrating F&O with Power Platform, Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, and enterprise systems.

Finance Domain Knowledge

• • Strong understanding of financial operations, accounting principles, and month-end processes.
  • Ability to translate accounting and reporting needs into system logic and automation.

Preferred Work Experience/Skills

• Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Power Platform + F&O Integration or Solution Architect Expert
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Power BI.
• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries.

• Position is performed in a general office environment, home office, or approved remote workspace where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting to 25 lbs.

• Daily use of the Microsoft Teams (phone), computer, printer, and other routine office equipment
• Must have internet access
