The Senior Manager, Merchant Services, will lead and enhance our merchant services operations. In this role, you will manage the operational, analytical, and technical aspects of merchant services while managing vendor relationships and driving strategic initiatives. The Senior Manager will play a key role in managing and growing team members, implementing process improvement, expanding the capabilities of payments within RedSail Technologies. This position requires in-depth industry knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset.

Key Duties

Strategic Leadership and Program Oversight:

  • Optimizing the merchant services strategy to support rapid growth of payment processing capabilities
  • Continuing refinement of merchant onboarding and support.
  • Identify opportunities for new payment solutions, value-added services, and strategic partnerships.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to monitor performance and customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of merchant operations and relationship specialists.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support professional development through training and cross-functional exposure.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Technology and Customer Success teams to integrate payment solutions into POS and PMS platforms.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to refine pricing models, go-to-market strategies, and promotional programs.
  • Engaging with Sales on merchant opportunities including pricing, contracting and other related activity.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on payment processing, interchange, and merchant pricing.

Partner & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with various payment technology and service partners.
  • Ensure alignment between internal business objectives and third-party service levels.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly performance reports for executive review.
  • Recommend data-driven improvements to pricing, routing, and merchant retention initiatives.

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in merchant services, payment processing, or financial services, with demonstrated success in management role.
  • Proven experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts at a strategic level.

Required Work Experience/Skills

  • Comfortable in large group speaking engagements, strong presentation skills and managing with influence over partnering teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data visualization tools, and CRM systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-first mindset.
  • Knowledge of payment gateways, processing platforms, and PCI compliance is required
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
