Job Description

This role needs someone located in Eastern Time Zone (or East Coast).

Nearpod is looking for a highly driven Sales Manager to lead our AE’s, RSM, and Account Manager! This person will have demonstrated success in managing, coaching, and mentoring high-performance sales representatives; assisting in identifying, qualifying, landing, and growing client accounts; and meeting and exceeding sales quotas. This role will report to the RVP of Sales and will work closely with Sales Operations, Customer Success, and Marketing staff.

Our Ideal Candidate will:

  • Staffing: Identify, hire, and develop sales representatives that consistently exceed their quotas.
  • Culture: Exemplify a solutions-oriented approach aligned to what we value when collaborating and problem-solving with direct reports, other departmental leaders and colleagues, customers, and potential customers
  • Enablement: Help develop and deliver enablement activities and sessions in a variety of formats to help develop both current and new-hire sales representatives: whole group training, breakout sessions, role-playing, self-paced learning modules, and more.
  • Strategy + Systems: Identify and be a valued contributor of process and cadence improvements with fellow members of the sales leadership team in order to consistently support improvement on the sales team.
  • Strategy + Management: Clearly communicate individual and team quotas to all direct reports and use coaching to ensure individual sales contributions lead to Team Quota Attainment, along with a plan to build pipeline within their territory.
  • Strategy + Management: Strategize and collaborate with direct reports on a territory plan to help identify and prioritize targets based on available data and manage execution against that plan. Also develops gap plans and multiple pathways to achieving quota.
  • Management: Lead performance reviews and develop rep development/growth plans, as well as issue performance improvement plans for underperforming reps and conduct weekly 1:1's with direct reports by providing regular feedback.
  • Management: Ensure the AE, RSM & AM teams are inputting accurate and complete information into Salesforce using the buyer’s journey and standards for staging criteria.
  • Forecasting: Forecast at least biweekly with reps and deliver a quarterly forecast within 10% accuracy.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Regularly meet with CSM Management, SDR Management, and Field Marketing Management to ensure effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Travel: Travel once per month to attend district prospect meetings with reps, travel 1-2 times per year for the Sales Kick-Off events and limited travel to company headquarters as needed.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of successful school or district-level education and/or education technology sales experience required
  • Standout colleague with a positive demeanor and dedication to exceeding sales objectives.
  • Must be experienced using Salesforce
  • Excellent business development and coaching skills along with being well organized and efficient time management skills
  • Competitive in nature and driven to develop a team of hustlers and top sales reps

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous management experience a plus but not required.
  • For internal applicants, you ideally have achieved your 1H target (100% attainment) and/or your forecasted FY for fiscal year attainments (current + factored pipeline). You have also ideally achieved at least 80% minimum attainment for 2023.

Salary Range: The base range for this position is $82,200 - $113,100. This range is based on national market data and may vary by experience and location.
