Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Technologist – Electrical & Wiring Harnesses will be the hands‑on technical expert who bridges product design, process development, and production execution for wiring harness assemblies. Working closely with design engineers, production teams, quality, and supply chain, you will develop, qualify, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, test equipment, and work instructions that enable efficient, cost‑effective, and defect‑free supplier production of complex harnesses.
Key Responsibilities

| Process Design & Optimization | • Design, build, and qualify production tooling and fixtures |
| Technical Support & Troubleshooting | • Provide production and supplier support |
| Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & Assembly (DFA) | • Collaborate with product design engineers to ensure new harness designs are manufacturable, cost‑effective, and meet reliability targets. |
| Quality & Compliance | • Develop and maintain process validation protocols and functional test procedures per IPC and customer standards. |
| Continuous Improvement | • Lead Kaizen events focused on wiring harness production; track and report KPI improvements |
| Training & Documentation | • Write and update work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials. |
| Equipment & Tooling Management | • Manage the lifecycle of wiring assembly equipment. |
| Cross‑Functional Collaboration | • Interface with Supply Chain to support outsourced assemblies. |
| Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE) | • Ensure all activities comply with OSHA, company safety policies, and environmental regulations (e.g., hazardous waste handling of lead‑based solders). |
Required Qualifications

| Education | • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field. |
| Experience | • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in manufacturing engineering for wiring harnesses (aerospace preferred). |
| Technical Skills | • Proficiency in CAD/CAM tools for harness layout |
| Process Skills | • Experience with Lean manufacturing, 6S, Kaizen, and Six‑Sigma methodologies. |
| Analytical Skills | • Strong problem‑solving abilities; comfortable using root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action frameworks (CAPA). |
| Communication | • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to create clear work instructions and technical reports. |
| Computer Literacy | • MS Office (Excel – advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts). |
Comments/Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

The compensation range for this position is $71K- $89K annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
