Major Account Executive – Swagger

  • Drive expansion of the Swagger platform within strategic enterprise accounts building and scaling API programs.
  • Partner with platform engineering, developer enablement, and architecture teams to modernize API design, governance, and collaboration.
  • Lead complex enterprise SaaS expansion motions including cross‑sell and upsell opportunities across the SmartBear API ecosystem.

With capabilities focused on API design, documentation, and governance, teams can ensure consistency across large and distributed engineering organizations.

As companies adopt API‑first strategies and platform engineering models, Swagger plays a critical role in helping teams scale API programs while maintaining quality, visibility, and control.

About the Role

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to expand adoption of the Swagger platform within existing enterprise customers.
  • Build trusted relationships with architects, platform leaders, engineering directors, and executive stakeholders responsible for API strategy.
  • Identify expansion opportunities by aligning Swagger capabilities with customers’ API governance, developer experience, and platform initiatives.
  • Manage complex enterprise expansion cycles from discovery through negotiation and close in partnership with Solutions Engineering and Customer Success.
  • Educate customers on SmartBear’s API platform strategy and position Swagger within the broader API lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and account planning within CRM systems.

We are looking for you if you have

  • 5–7 years of successful B2B sales experience with at least 2–3 years managing enterprise accounts.
  • Experience selling SaaS, developer tools, DevOps platforms, API platforms, or similar technical solutions.
  • A track record of exceeding quota and closing complex enterprise expansion opportunities.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage architects, engineering leaders, and senior technology stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting API‑first initiatives, developer platform strategies, or DevOps transformations.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and modern sales pipeline management practices.

Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location.
