As our Senior Manager of Engineering Operations, reporting to our EVP of Cloud Engineering, SRE, and FinOps, this role provides senior leadership to drive the strategic vision for SonicWall's end user technology support and service management. Develop and execute new initiatives through staff to enable all SonicWall employees to do their best work every day. Work collaboratively to define and execute business priorities with other functional and technology areas of SonicWall and senior leaders in various global markets. The ideal candidate should be a highly qualified leader with substantial experience designing, managing, and continuously improving IT Operational Support, Service Management, and Tooling teams, policies, and processes to ensure our enterprise technologies' stability while delivering exceptional service to our clients. S/he will have relevant management experience within a large, complex, managed technology services organization and be responsible for all aspects of Service Management, partnering with stakeholders and direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate to create a strategic Information Technology vision and roadmap for the organization that supports organizational goals and build on that vision.
- Partner with senior leadership to establish business and system requirements for projects and proactively advise executives on information technology trends, benefits, and risks.
- Build vendor partnerships and oversee multiple vendor relationships to ensure the best performance and financial return.
- Leverage and maintain a deep knowledge of a broad range of vendor technology solutions and select the most appropriate technologies to support the business.
- Prioritize and provide approvals and controls for projects across the organization as they relate to the selection, acquisition, and development of major information systems.
- Drive culture by continually reinforcing the company’s customer-centric values in all aspects of IT operations and provisioning.
- Apply rigor in financial management and business value analysis to IT expense and capital allocations.
- Brings innovation and leading-edge technology solutions that create business and enhanced value.
- Gives timely and constructive feedback, leading to improved performance and accountability.
- Creates and promotes an environment that fosters learning and innovation.
- Actively coaches and mentors IT personnel to develop effective IT leaders and teams to reach their potential and deliver business results.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: -
Required:
- 10+ years experience in progressive, relevant Information Technology is required; experience in cloud-based software organizations is preferred.
- 5+ years of leadership responsibilities, including strategy, budgeting, and people leadership.
- Ability to work in pressure situations to meet required deadlines, flexibility in work schedule.
- Must be able to manage and schedule multiple projects on an ongoing basis with the ability to prioritize and work independently and as a team member.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and effectively advise business leaders in technology solutions within a complex business.
- Excellent project skills, including providing leadership to effectively manage and execute highly complex transformational initiatives, deep experience with project and product management methodologies and tools.
- Ability to understand highly complex and ambiguous issues, own decisions, and effectively implement technology solutions that have company-wide impacts.
- Proven ability to drive strategic initiatives while effectively collaborating and team building across functions to achieve results.
- Skilled in developing a long-term vision and strategies for both technical and non-technical audiences and how the IT vision/strategy is aligned with and linked to the company vision/strategy.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and an ability to establish strong relationships with all levels of the organization and external partners.
- Incorporates broad functional business and industry knowledge to develop business-aligned IT strategies.
- Has a passion for people development, innovation, process improvement, and technology.
- Maintain professional decorum when representing the IT department to attorneys and staff.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
- Provide 24x7 support as needed.
Preferred:
- Background working in software and SaaS Services offerings.
- Background and experience building and managing large global services platforms.
- Hands-on technology driver who is motivated to create innovative solutions to unique problems.
- Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
