The Director of Site Reliability Engineering will provide vision, strategy, and leadership for developing and implementing SRE initiatives.

The Director of Site Reliability Engineering will oversee all aspects of Site Reliability Engineering to support Mobile Apps, Desktop Apps, Cloud Apps, Middleware and Firmware Development and Deployment to enable and deliver Technology, Hardware and Software Roadmaps. Additionally, you will optimize organizational throughput processes and tools for stability, reliability, and efficiency while relentlessly improving software development processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading and overseeing the day-to-day support, maintenance, and growth of multiple products infrastructure, both in data centers and the cloud.

• Manage a hybrid team of local and remote employees supporting our platforms and systems.

• Strong history in implementing and maintaining SRE topics like SLOs, resilience, scaling, performance, and more.

• Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems.

• Develop and track KPIs related to our platforms and report them to upper management.

• Build and drive adoption for greater self-healing and resiliency patterns.

• Align engineering development requirements with the capabilities of the site infrastructure.

• 24/7 monitoring and management of customer facing services

• Service availability and resiliency oversight. Ensure all teams have clear roadmaps to increase availability and resiliency. Ensure that we have a proper Disaster Recovery posture and that we regularly exercise and prove our ability to recover and restore service availability.

• Provide guidance to teams in advance of the Ops review on areas that they should be tackling and to which they should pay attention.

• Cloud and data center Data-centralization - Ensure all oversight and that all teams are tracking their spending and meeting their product lines' cloud and datacenter cost goals; Initiate and track cross-cutting cost optimization initiatives; Forecast our Cloud and data center spend and re-cast the forecast based on any product or technology changes.

• Operational security and regulatory compliance of the service. Security posture “central command” within Engineering - Be the central point of contact for the Global Security Team in planning our R&D and products security posture; ensuring all R&D teams we are continually evolving their posture; and in executing internal and external security audits.

• Cost of service and costs associated with the SRE work product Required (The SRE Leader themselves should have considerable technical expertise, with significant experience in building and launching Cloud Services. While this is not an exhaustive profile, the following considerations are critical)

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related field.

• 10+ years of relevant work experience in progressing leadership roles (IT general, programming, SLA management, etc.).

• 10+ years of experience in people management, including demonstrated experience in mentoring and growing resources.

• 5+ years of experience in project management methodology and structures

• Must have IT (COLO and AWS) Experience.

• Experienced in the practical financial aspects of operating Cloud Services, including managing vendor relationships, budget management and building operational cost models.

• Experience managing global 24/7 organizations and growing organizations from small teams into larger organizations.

• Preferred experience with IT organizations. • Preferred experience with acquisitions and impacts on IT.

• Requires strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

• Leadership skills:

o Coaches and mentors peers and subordinates.

o Drives change and builds a base of followers.

o Sets standards for excellence to achieve quality and productivity. o Influences others without direct authority.

o Experience with managing offshore resources.
