Overview

The Director of Value and Scoping plays a pivotal role in ensuring successful SaaS implementations for symplr clients by accurately defining the scope, value, and resource requirements of each project. This strategic leader will oversee a dedicated team and collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Implementation, and Finance to assess client needs, estimate timelines and costs, and develop scalable delivery models.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive value proposition sales collateral in collaboration with the Commercial Team and Marketing.
  • Drive sales enablement initiatives that empower the Commercial Team to confidently sell services. This includes developing training programs, packaged offerings tied to business goals, and proof points such as calculators and success stories—reducing friction and accelerating deal cycles.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in client-facing discussions to articulate scope, value, and delivery expectations.
  • Develop standardized scoping frameworks and tools to ensure consistency and accuracy across engagements.
  • Partner with delivery leaders to ensure scoped projects are executable and aligned with delivery capabilities, while positioning services as a strategic value-add that strengthens customer outcomes.
  • Partner with Finance to align pricing strategies with resource utilization and profitability goals.
  • Collaborate across teams to define project requirements, timelines, and pricing models.
  • Lead the scoping and value assessment of software implementation projects for hospital and health system clients.
  • Analyze historical implementation data and key metrics to refine effort estimates and improve forecasting.
  • Create scalable, outcome-driven service offerings structured around client business objectives.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize scoping processes and enhance client value realization.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of professionals to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring alignment with team members’ strengths and development areas.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture through clear communication, accountability, and support.
  • Conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews, and provide coaching to support individual and team growth.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare technology, professional services, or implementation leadership.
  • Proven ability to scope complex software projects and translate client needs into actionable plans.
  • Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Smartsheet) and CRM platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Ability to design and deliver programs that equip Account Executives to position and sell services confidently.
  • Understanding of how to articulate business outcomes and ROI for service offerings.
  • Proven ability to align service positioning with revenue growth and customer success.
  • Experience driving adoption of new processes and tools across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to leverage metrics and analytics to refine scoping accuracy and improve forecasting.
  • Comfort engaging with senior stakeholders to gain alignment on pricing, scope, and delivery strategies.
