Overview
The FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) Analyst investigates and interprets revenue data for senior leadership. This position plays a key role in supporting the Sr. Manager and Sr. Analyst in both ongoing and ad-hoc revenue reporting analysis.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide FP&A partnership for business leaders in revenue-generating functions; deliver recurring reporting and analysis on revenue performance, forecasting, and ad-hoc/special projects by understanding business challenges and delivering relevant analysis
- Analyze and interpret revenue, churn, and price increase results, including investigating variances and making recommendations on corrective actions
- Prepare financial and operational information and reports, including revenue forecasts, budget reports, variance analysis, retention, and margin analysis
- Support development of bookings/adjusted revenue forecast models; perform driver-based revenue builds and scenario modeling
- Collaborate with Sales, Sales Operations, Product, and Services teams to understand pipeline, bookings, and revenue drivers; provide insights to improve forecasting accuracy and identify growth opportunities
- Monitor and report on key revenue metrics, including new bookings, retention, churn, and price realization; identify trends and communicate actionable insights to leadership
- Develop and implement data quality controls and departmental standards to ensure trustworthy revenue information
- Provide integration support for future acquisitions, focusing on revenue recognition and reporting alignment
- Achieve continuous process improvement and deliver timely and accurate revenue reporting, analytics, and insights
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Skills Required
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with PowerPoint, planning software tools (ex. Adaptive), and ERP/CRM systems (ex. NetSuite/Salesforce)
- Excellent time management, resource organization and priority establishment skills, and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize revenue data from multiple sources into actionable analysis and adjust messaging for different audiences
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Services teams to drive revenue insights and improvements
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to navigate, adapt, and grow in a fast-paced environment
- High energy with the ability to work independently
Qualifications Required:
- BS/BBA degree required in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- 2-4 years experience in a corporate Finance/FP&A, decision support, and/or accounting role required
- Working knowledge of Adaptive Planning Analytics is preferred
- Demonstrated aptitude and success in financial modeling and insight generation/analysis
