Overview

We’re seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Accounting and Finance team at symplr. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong financial reporting background, deep knowledge of US GAAP, and the ability to operate in a dynamic, multinational legal entity structure. This is a highly visible role within the organization that will require collaboration across multiple departments and external resources.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare month end close journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Perform monthly and quarterly flux analyses to explain material changes in account balances
  • Drive accurate and timely financial reporting for our consolidated entities
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation for our auditors
  • Prepare financial statements and various footnotes for year-end consolidated financials
  • Work alongside the Finance team in preparing quarterly and annual consolidated management financials
  • Monitor, oversee, and implement new and evolving accounting standards under US GAAP
  • Advise and/or prepare technical memos and analysis to support accounting treatment for complex areas such as business combinations, leases, and equity transactions
  • Partner with teams such as Finance, Tax, Legal, IT, Engineering and Human Resources to determine and operationalize the accounting and reporting implications of new business initiatives and transactions
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process automation and improvement to ensure processes are scalable and optimized
  • Assist with special projects such as system implementations and due diligence for acquisitions

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate GL accounting
  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and proactive approach

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • CPA or Master’s in Business Administration
  • Experience in a healthcare technology company or a company with recurring revenue cycles
  • Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements for global businesses
  • Strong understanding of ASC 842, ASC 805, and ASC 470
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
