Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our growing QE team. In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and execute tests for UI, API, and Mobile applications. You will leverage your experience with modern automation tools, including WDIO, Playwright and Functionize, to ensure high-quality product delivery. The ideal candidate will also bring leadership experience in guiding a team of engineers and driving test automation initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Test Automation Development:
- Design, develop, and execute automated tests using WDIO or anyother automation framework and your expertise in a programming language ( Python, or similar).
- Work extensively with Functionize AI automation tool (3+ years’ experience) to enhance test efficiency and coverage.
UI, API, and Mobile Test Automation:
- Implement test automation strategies for UI, API, and Mobile applications to ensure seamless and scalable test execution.
- Develop and maintain test scripts and frameworks across multiple platforms.
Test Pipeline & Dashboard Setup:
- Set up, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution.
- Design and implement test dashboards to track test progress, quality metrics, and results effectively.
Leadership & Mentorship:
- Lead and mentor a team of SDET engineers, guiding them in automation best practices and ensuring alignment with team goals.
- Take ownership of automation initiatives and contribute to setting the overall direction for test automation.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide automated solutions.
- Communicate test results, analysis, and challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Continuously evaluate and integrate new automation tools and practices to improve testing efficiency.
- Review and enhance existing test strategies based on feedback and test results.
Skills Required
- 9-12 years of experience in Test Automation and SDET roles.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience with Functionize automation tool.
Technical Skills:
- Strong experience with UI automation with Functionize AI tool.
- Strong proficiency one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript or C#.
- Hands-on experience with UI, API, and Mobile automation testing.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience with setting up automated test pipelines.
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud technologies and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Experience in using Test Reporting and Dashboarding tools.
Leadership:
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team of test automation engineers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
