Terran Orbital seeks a talented and growth-minded Network and Security Engineer to join its IT team. This position will be responsible for the smooth implementation and operations of its cloud infrastructure and network systems, as well as for supporting the day-to-day IT operations of the business within requirements, specifications, budgets, and timelines.

You will work collaboratively with the Cyber Security Team to implement and maintain our company’s new IT network architecture and other supporting systems. The ideal candidate will have prior experience and a proven track record of successfully designing, operating, setting up, and monitoring the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) and performing upgrades and enhancements as directed by IT leadership. The Network and Security Engineer will also implement, enhance, and monitor security measures to protect the company’s network and have detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practice processes within a NIST 800-171 compliant environment.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Configuring and maintaining firewalls, including VPN tunnels, security policies, and threat management
  • Setting up and managing Wi-Fi connections, ensuring optimal performance and security
  • Configuring and managing network ports, ensuring proper VLAN and security settings
  • Working with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) solutions to ensure secure access and data protection
  • Managing networking projects, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration
  • Collaborating with the Cyber Security Team to ensure compliance with NIST regulations and best practices
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations, or new systems and provide visibility to senior leadership in developing strategic priorities.
  • Overseeing and mentoring junior network engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure project success and professional growth.
