Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced System Administrator (Weekday Shift) to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director, IT Infrastructure, the System Administrator (Weekday Shift) will manage and support critical IT infrastructure, focusing specifically on engineering and manufacturing systems such as Aegis MES, Windchill PLM, SolidWorks, and National Instruments/TestStand. This role includes providing primary backup support for external integrations, notably with Lockheed Martin, and independently managing mixed Windows and Ubuntu Linux server environments. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with stringent cybersecurity standards and actively participate in infrastructure enhancements and medium-scale projects.

This role is on our Weekday shift (Monday-Thursday) from 7:00AM - 5:30PM

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain essential engineering and manufacturing systems, including Aegis MES, Windchill PLM, SolidWorks, and National Instruments/TestStand.
  • Act as the primary backup administrator for external integrations, managing secure data exchanges and ensuring system interoperability.
  • Independently manage Microsoft Windows and Ubuntu Linux server environments, performing regular system updates, patches, health checks, performance tuning, and capacity management.
  • Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V, including creating, managing, and maintaining virtual machine resources.
  • Manage core network services including DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory services.
  • Provide occasional support to cloud and networking teams, assisting in resolving cross-functional technical issues.
  • Lead and implement medium-scale IT infrastructure projects, such as migrating on-premises applications to cloud services, deploying new systems, and enhancing security measures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to cybersecurity standards (NIST 800-171, CMMC), conduct vulnerability assessments, manage remediation efforts, and maintain STIG compliance.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and support to junior system administrators and assist helpdesk personnel with complex infrastructure-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain detailed, accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, operational procedures, compliance records, and project implementations.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a System Administrator, supporting Windows and Linux environments.
  • Proven experience managing virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V) and core networking services (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory).
  • Experience supporting engineering and manufacturing-specific software and systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Ansible, Python).
  • Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (NIST 800-171, CMMC).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance.

Salary Range $85,000-$120,000

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
