Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Production Planner will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient procurement, scheduling, and delivery of materials to support production and engineering operations. Production Planner will also collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, managers, and other stakeholders to maintain production schedule and status execution of projects and prepare performance evaluation reports.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain material requirement plans (MRP) based on production schedules, engineering demands, and project milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material needs and align procurement strategies with project goals.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock while minimizing excess or obsolete materials.
  • Work closely with procurement to ensure on-time delivery of materials, resolving any delays or quality issues promptly.
  • Analyze material usage trends, lead times, and demand fluctuations to drive continuous improvement in planning processes.
  • Consult with project managers, and third-party program management to integrate multiple parallel program requirements, and set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks, including Identifying critical path elements and solutions.
  • Coordinate production timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders
  • Monitor production timelines and deadlines.
  • Identify trends, bottlenecks, inefficiencies in material planning and potential production schedule delays, and recommend actionable improvements and facilitate intervention in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate performance and prepare production performance reports.
  • Develop metrics and performance calculations using production schedule metrics and inputs.
  • Accommodate updates and changes to production schedules.
  • Hold regular meetings with stakeholders to receive scheduled inputs and monitor progress and identify production barriers.
  • Recommend actions to keep products within budget and completed on time.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and inform them of production timelines and deadlines.
  • Document production scheduling processes and maintaining records.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a production planner/scheduler.
  • Familiar with Earned Value Management or other similar reporting and metrics.
  • Proven track record of maintaining production schedules and providing performance reports.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling software, such as MS Project, Excel, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Proficiency in databasing software, such as Excel, MS Access, or SQL.
  • Proficiency in ERP software, such as MS Dynamics.
  • Ability to keep stakeholders informed of production timelines and changes.
  • Aerospace industry experience or equivalent experience developing and maintaining production schedules for advanced and technical efforts.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with multiple disciplines.
  • Experience providing deliverables and presenting to the executive level.
  • U.S. Person or lawful permanent resident to comply with U.S. government space technology export regulations.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Physical Demands

An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
