Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Director, Quality, the Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing supplier programs for manufacturing and other operational processes and ensuring that quality programs comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier corrective actions requests
- Manage Supplier Quality Manual and Supplier Quality Requirements documents, ensuring compliance with AS9100 and AS9145 standards as applicable.
- Maintain and update Approved Supplier List (ASL), including approval status and scope.
- Develop, maintain and review supplier performance metrics such as product quality, process capability, and on-time delivery.
- Manage supplier Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinate corrective actions.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 and oversee receiving inspection routing.
- Conduct supplier audits and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).
- Ability to travel and visit suppliers (25% - 50% travel).
- Perform supplier risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
- Utilize advanced quality tools such as PPAP, PFMEA, and SPC for process validation and improvement.
- Track and report supplier KPIs including PPM (Parts Per Million), OTD (On-Time Delivery), and cost of poor quality.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Subcontracts and Engineering teams to ensure proper flow-down of requirements and quality standards so supplier and subcontractors.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality within aerospace or defense manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9145, and related quality standards.
- Proficiency in PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and risk management methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills.
Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
