Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly revenue accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of revenue recognition and related activity (i.e. revenue sharing with partners, accounts receivable, deferred revenues etc.) within a deadline driven environment
- Maintaining and utilizing Excel spreadsheets to analyze revenue accounting, maintain reporting and the preparation of journal entries
- Partner with operations, billing, and other finance teams to ensure data integrity and timely processing of transactions
- Works with external stakeholders to create and deliver reports including but not limited to collections, AR, enrollments, drops, transfers, refunds, and revenue
- Journalizing revenue accounting activities in NetSuite (our ERP system)
- Ensures complete reconciliation of subledger to general ledger on a monthly basis
- Collaborates within revenue accounting team to maintain revenue supporting schedule and cost amortization
- Work with Revenue Accounting Manager on a daily basis to ensure daily tasks are in line with required accounting standards; recommending changes as needed
Experience/ Skills Required
- Strong attention to detail, organization and communication skills are a must. Prior experience working directly with internal and external stakeholders and collaborating in a team environment will be prioritized
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must – including lookups, index/match, pivot tables, and other standard formulas. The desire to grow your knowledge and skills is preferred as there are opportunities to learn advanced functions like power pivot/power queries
- Experience working with multiple accounting and reporting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar) highly preferred
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Working knowledge of ASC 606 principles preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA/Chartered Accountant qualifications is preferred
- 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance roles is required; Public accounting or Revenue experience is highly preferred
