We are looking for our next Senior Director of Services Engineering to serve as a key member of the Customer Operations leadership team. This position is a great fit for someone who has experience managing a development team in a Services organization – you have as much experience with Development frameworks as you do with Customer-facing delivery. You understand both Agile and DevOps but also project budgets and client timeline constraints. You’ll be joining the team at a time when we are moving through a transformation, and you’ll be an important part of steering the team through this transition, so you also need to be a leader who communicates, inspires, and empowers.


  • Develop the Services Engineering organization by creating an innovation-friendly environment and hiring and retaining top talent
  • Establish and maintain a resource forecasting model that will ensure that we have the right level of skilled people when we need them
  • Create a culture that delivers quality products based on customer requirements, while also balancing customer budget and timeline
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the processes and tools; especially in areas where technical debt can be impeding our ability to make progress
  • Collect operational data (and ensure their good quality), evaluate them and adjust the processes and tools accordingly
  • Own relationships to other Vendavo departments like Customer Operations, Product Engineering etc., collect their feedback and give feedback to them, break down potential silos
  • Serve as a point of escalation for issues for your managers and other directors in Vendavo, handle their escalations rapidly and efficiently
  • Monitor performance and coach your managers and ensure they are coaching their teams
  • If needed, plans and executes change, acts as a Change Agent in the Change Management process
  • Support managers in interviewing, selecting and on-boarding new hires to ensure that we are hiring the right talent
  • Present to current or potential client how we work and explain in detail the methods, approaches and tools used in Services Engineering
  • Manage the transition to a global organization, including an expansion into new geographies
  • Creates and manages Services Engineering goals


  • Experience managing +5 managers with a span of control of +50 Engineers
  • Experience managing a multi-million dollar P&L (1-time services and recurring services)
  • Experience managing a billable organization with Revenue and Expense management responsibilities
  • Experience managing a Services organization with a customer facing role
  • Very good English communication, ability to efficiently interact both towards own organization and outside of it
  • Minimum of 7 years experience as leader of an organization of cross-functional software development teams using agile-like methodologies
  • Focus on quality and operational efficiency
  • Used to analyzing operational data
  • Efficient in handling of escalations both internally and externally at C-suite level
  • Used to working in geographically distributed environments
