VitalSource®, is hiring a Lead Data Engineer to contribute to our Engineering team located in Raleigh (hybrid) or remotely.
We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join VitalSource! You'll play a pivotal role in not only optimizing our current infrastructure but also in pioneering our data evolution. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, you'll be instrumental in reshaping our data landscape, leveraging our current technology and introducing best-in-class, battle-tested solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously assess and refine our data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Work closely with engineering teams to optimize our application and system implementations while introducing potential improvements.
- Evaluate and potentially integrate new technologies or frameworks that enhance data integrity, performance, and scalability.
- Collaborate with the development teams to optimize and strengthen data transactions within our ecosystem.
- Guide our data warehouse towards best practices in data quality, integration, and utilization.
- Serve as a thought leader, introducing industry best practices, tools, and methodologies to enhance our data capabilities.
- Ensure secure handling and storage of data, collaborating with IT and security teams.
- Foster a data-centric culture, mentoring team members, and driving data-focused initiatives.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, assessing their applicability to our organization's goals.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data design, architecture, and systems with a penchant for innovation.
- Familiarity with GCP or similar cloud service platforms.
- Familiarity with Snowflake or similar data warehousing platforms.
- Openness to exploring and integrating new data technologies and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving attitude.
- Ability to drive change and articulate the value of data-centric solutions to diverse stakeholders.

Salary Range: $120,000 to $140,000
