The role of the EDI Analyst is to work with trading partners to ensure timely and accurate posting of all responses to claim submission, eligibility request, claim status request and remits, while continuously improving the department processes and procedures to ensure the highest value possible for our customers. Function as EDI expert assisting and training other EDI Production team members.WHAT YOU'LL DO
Research and address missing claim responses from production reports with our trading partners
Take ownership of file transmission issues
Maintain a full understanding of claim responses for your assigned routes
Analyze response parsing errors and effectively communicate program requirements to Engineering
Pursue better connectivity options for automation, security, and performance
Ensure 835 transactions are received from trading partner’s FTP/website once available.
Ensure payers are accurately identified from inbound 835 transactions
Ensure that 835s transactions are syntactically correct
Alert Waystar clients and staff of any variance in receipt of 835 transactions
Review trading partner emails to ensure issues/changes are communicated and addressed
Implementation of new direct connections and industry mandates
Manage of current route connections and payer setups
Contribute to the continuing enrichment of Route/Payer Account contacts in Salesforce
Assist team members with production issues
Assist with training new employees
Research and address internal requests for assistance received in the ‘EDI Production Queue’
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership within the area of responsibility and control
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Excellent analytic and problem solving skills
Knowledge of Windows-based computer environment, including MS Office and related programs
Active ownership and responsibility regarding duties and task (sense of urgency)
Ability to work unsupervised in a corporate environment
Experience with healthcare claims transactions
Technical support experience
EDI X12 healthcare transactions experience
SQL (or propensity to learn)
Excel

The Client Operations, Clearinghouse + Payment Operations, and Business Transformation team at Waystar builds brand loyalty and ensures solution adoption and client success. From resolving concerns to maintaining positive relationships, the team works directly with clients to provide resources and tools to help achieve their healthcare revenue cycle goals. The team is split into two divisions: Health Systems + Hospitals (HS+H) and Ambulatory. The Health Systems + Hospitals division includes large health systems at a multi-level local or national scale. The Ambulatory division includes organizations such as provider groups and physician and specialty practices.
