ABOUT THIS POSITION

As a Specialist Application Engineer focused on Java development, you’ll partner closely with Product, QA, and Engineering teams to architect, build, and enhance critical features in our enterprise platform. You’ll play a key role in developing robust backend services and APIs, optimizing application performance, and advancing the scalability and reliability of our systems.Do you love clean code and elegant architecture? WHAT YOU'LL DO
Participate in the architecture, design, and development of complex Java-based enterprise applications
Implement and maintain RESTful APIs, business logic, and integration components
Perform code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, security best practices, and software quality
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Troubleshoot and resolve application bugs, performance bottlenecks, and production issues
Assist in refactoring legacy systems to improve scalability, maintainability, and performance
Contribute to the creation and validation of technical specifications and documentation
Support deployment and release cycles in coordination with QA and Product teams
Maintain awareness of industry trends and evaluate new technologies to continuously improve engineering practices
Estimate project tasks and provide timely updates to stakeholders using internal project management tools
Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of professional Java development experience
Deep knowledge of Java 8+, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and related frameworks
Strong understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and software architecture principles
Experience working with SQL databases, including schema design, stored procedures, and performance tuning (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL)
Solid understanding of REST API design and implementation
Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito) and test-driven development
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with practical, maintainable solutions
