ABOUT THIS POSITION
We’re looking for a Lead Business Intelligence Analyst to serve as a trusted advanced analytics partner with data storytelling to Waystar leadership and functional teams. You’ll be instrumental in analyzing complex sales and operational data, identifying trends, delivering data-informed decisions that maximize business performance and producing insights that help drive improved outcomes for healthcare providers.In this role, you will take ownership of major analytic initiatives, translating large and complex data sets into compelling narratives and strategic insights that support decision-making across the organization. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams—including sales, marketing, product development, and client operations—to identify performance opportunities, evaluate program effectiveness, and recommend process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing advanced analytics solutions, excellent critical thinking skills, and a strong ability to influence business strategies through data-driven insights. This role demands a proactive, consultative approach, with a focus on synthesizing information for senior leadership to support high-impact organizational initiatives.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead medium-to-complex analytical projects that evaluate performance across product, marketing, channel, and client operations
Continuously evaluate and enhance reporting tools and recurring analyses by recommending usability and accuracy improvements, identifying opportunities for process automation, and driving improved data quality and speed-to-insight across operational workflows.
Perform deep dives into key performance indicators such as engagement, retention, throughput, and conversion, supporting both internal and customer-facing functions
Build integrated views from complex datasets (e.g., operational, product usage, market data, and CRM systems) to support strategic and tactical decision-making
Translate business questions into analytical frameworks that inform cross-functional initiatives and help predict gaps or disruptions
Collaborate with teams across the organization to deliver ad hoc analysis and insight development aligned with business priorities
Maintain documentation and templates that drive consistency in data definitions, report interpretation, and stakeholder communication
Ensure accuracy and integrity of reports by implementing validation techniques and documentation standards
WHAT YOU'LL NEED

You have a bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, data science or a related field
You have 4-7 years of experience working in operations or other data-related fields, and have advanced analytical skills and the ability to distill complex analyses for management
You have the ability to lead and implement projects and initiatives across the organization
You have deep understanding of, and have partnered with functional leaders, reviewing and analyzing data from key programs, building insight narratives, and driving improvements in sales processes
You’re comfortable in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working cross-functionally and are able to lead and implement projects across the organization. You are the type of person who gets things done!
You have a working knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) tools, preferably Salesforce
You have demonstrated proficiency in Excel for data manipulation, complex modeling, and automation of repetitive tasks through the use of VBA, Macros, and Power Query
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
You have strong presentation skills with the ability to build persuasive and clear presentations
You have demonstrated the ability to develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with others throughout the organization to drive success
You are detail-oriented with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models and technologies
You are highly organized with the ability to prioritize and execute many concurrent tasks
You have experience in a healthcare or tech / software organization
You will attend and successfully complete Summit Academy training upon hiring
BONUS POINTS
You have a Master’s degree in analytics, data science, or a related field
You’re familiar with advanced analytics tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Business Objects, etc.
You have experience with SQL, Python and/or other data analysis tools
You have experience in a healthcare or tech / software organization
