What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Design Technologist, you will serve as a bridge between design and engineering and be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment. We have advanced knowledge of one or more digital delivery mediums but also a strong basis in UX, visual, and motion design.

You will work with engineering teams and UX on developing cutting edge new elements, components, and/or variants that will be used across various areas of Boomi offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evolve Design System: work towards continuous improvement of Design System

• Prototyping and Development: Develop interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts and test usability. Translate design mockups into high-quality front-end code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks.

• UX/UI Design Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers to refine design specifications and ensure feasibility. Contribute to design reviews and provide constructive feedback.

• Technical Implementation:

  • Implement responsive and adaptive design techniques to ensure seamless user experiences across various devices and platforms.

  • Build a scalable code-based design system that has the design intention baked directly into it in the form of component granularity and class-naming choices.

  • Lead styleguide-driven development/design to create product efficiencies.

  • Build tools that help operationalize and bring efficiencies to design activities.

  • Prototype user experiences to the fidelity required to gain insight in user testing.

  • Help to assess the technical impact of design decisions, and ensure less impactful options that can achieve the same design intent are considered.

  • Provide in-browser proof of concept.

  • Ensure that designs and the code which manifests them provide progressive enhancement and accessibility affordances for all users.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.

• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of prototypes and final implementations to identify and fix bugs or usability issues

Essential Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Design Technologist, Front-End Developer, UX Engineer, or a similar role.

• Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.

• Strong understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles.

• Experience with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.

• Solid understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices.

• Ability to translate complex design concepts into functional prototypes and final products.

• Strong empathy for our customers, and the ability to represent their business needs in optimally-designed experiences (sketches, wireframes, and prototypes)

• Excellent Verbal and Visual communication skills

Desirable Requirements

• The ability to provide and accept constructive criticism in a timely and direct manner

• Experience working in Agile environments is a plus, as is involvement in the UX community
