How You'll Make An Impact:
The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will report to the Director of Accounting and primarily support month-end closing, consolidations, preparation of financial statements and related disclosures and roll forwards, management, lender and investor reporting, annual audits, and other ad-hoc requests. This position will work closely with the broader Accounting and Finance teams and collaborate with our business partners across the organization to support and analyze transactions that impact the preparation and review of financial statements and their related disclosure requirements.
What You'll Do:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) and related disclosures in accordance with US GAAP (i.e., footnote support schedules, tie-outs, and disclosure checklists)
- Utilize Workiva to streamline the financial reporting process, including the creation of interactive reports and dashboards
- Assist in month-end close processes and record journal entries, as necessary
- Conduct technical accounting research to resolve complex and unique accounting issues
- Assist in consolidation of financial statements and related activities
- Review financial data for accuracy, correctness, and completeness
- Review financial statement variance analysis and aggregate, as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and insights for reporting purposes
- Work closely with the FP&A team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Assist with maintaining and updating the company’s accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with the external audit by preparing supporting schedules and responding to auditor inquiries and information requests
- Contribute to large-scale projects to implement process improvements and internal controls for financial reporting and entity-level controls
The Experience You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification, preferred
- 4+ years of experience in financial reporting or analysis, public accounting experience highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in technical accounting research and interpreting accounting rules and guidance
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work product
- Ability to manage priorities effectively and meet deadlines within a high-growth, fast-paced environment
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), financial systems, and reporting tools
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Working knowledge of Workiva and NetSuite
- Consolidations experience
- Public accounting experience
Compensation
Boomi is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base compensation for this position in Canada ranges between 80,000 - 120,000 CAD annually + applicable bonus. Final compensation will be determined by various factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
