The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

What you will do

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment. You will work with product management, other engineering teams, customer success and support on developing cutting edge new product features and enhancements across various areas of Boomi offerings.

You will:

  • Design and AWS RDS and Aurora MySQL database solutions aligned with business requirements and best practices
  • Create, configure, administer, and maintain Aurora MySQL, RDS MySQL, RDS MariaDB, ProstgSql and MangoDatabase instances
  • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies using native AWS tools
  • Monitor database performance using CloudWatch and logging tools (general, audit, error, and slow query logs)
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and implement optimization strategies
  • Configure and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for critical databases
  • Implement and manage MySQL binlog replication and address replication issues
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including patching, upgrades, and health checks
  • Document database configurations, procedures, and runbooks
  • Collaborate with development teams on database design and optimization
  • Ensure compliance with security and data governance policies

What you’ll need to succeed in this role

  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • MySQL Internals & Storage Engine: Deep understanding of MySQL architecture and InnoDB storage engine specifics

  • Administration of Mongo Databse
  • AWS Database Services: Hands-on experience with Aurora MySQL, RDS MySQL, PostgreSQL and RDS MariaDB creation, administration, and maintenance
  • Backup & Recovery: Strong knowledge of Aurora/RDS backup and recovery procedures using native tools
  • High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Solid understanding of HA and DR concepts, including failover mechanisms and replication strategies
  • Replication & Troubleshooting: Proficiency with MySQL binlog replication configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Monitoring & Logging: Experience with CloudWatch and MySQL logs (general, audit, error, and slow query logs) for performance monitoring and issue diagnosis
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Understanding of AWS VPC and EC2 concepts required for cloud database management
  • Linux Administration: Solid grasp of Linux command-line fundamentals and system administration basics
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to work under pressure

Additional experience desired

  • Experience with MySQL Cluster or Group Replication
  • Knowledge of AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (New Relic, etc.)
  • Experience with automated backup and failover solutions
  • Understanding of database capacity planning and resource optimization
