Job Overview
Macrobond is building a dedicated design capability to accelerate the development of AI-native products and workflows. Design will play a central role in defining how users interact with Macrobond’s next generation of products, including semantic search, knowledge systems, and AI-assisted research workflows. This includes shaping how macroeconomic tools support both the production of insights and the consumption of those insights across Macrobond platforms.
The role focuses on designing clear, scalable, and intuitive user experiences that combine economic data, structured workflows, and AI capabilities to enable faster discovery, analysis, and decision-making.
Job Responsibilities
Product and Workflow Design
- Define and design end-to-end user workflows across the research lifecycle, including discovery, analysis, and publication
- Translate product strategy into clear, usable interaction models for complex analytical tasks
- Design experiences that support large datasets and structured economic concepts
- Ensure consistency and clarity across workflows and product surfaces
AI Interaction Design
- Design interaction patterns for AI-assisted workflows, including guided and structured interactions
- Define how users interact with AI systems beyond generic chatbot interfaces
- Ensure AI-driven features are transparent, controllable, and aligned with user intent
- Collaborate with AI Engineering to align interaction design with system capabilities
Design Systems and Foundations
- Build and maintain a scalable design system
- Define reusable components, interaction patterns, and visual standards
- Ensure consistency across current and future products
- Support rapid product development through well-defined design foundations
Collaboration and Research Workflows
- Design workflows that support both research producers and consumers
- Enable seamless transitions between analysis, documentation, and insight distribution
- Define how insights are structured, presented, and consumed across different user personas
- Support collaborative workflows, including sharing, iteration, and feedback
Cross-Functional Design Leadership
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and AI teams to co-design solutions from first principles
- Contribute to product and system design decisions where user experience impacts behaviour
- Establish design practices that integrate effectively with engineering and product workflows
- Support hiring and development of the design function as the team scales
Required Qualifications and experience
- Strong experience in product design, interaction design, or UX design for complex software products
- Proven ability to design systems and workflows, not just individual features or screens
- Experience working closely with engineering teams to deliver production-ready products
- Strong understanding of designing for data-heavy or analytical applications
- Experience building and maintaining design systems
- Ability to translate ambiguous problems into clear, structured solutions
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
