Job Overview

Macrobond is building a dedicated design capability to accelerate the development of AI-native products and workflows. The Senior Designer will play a key role in designing how users interact with Macrobond's next generation of products, including semantic search, knowledge systems, and AI-assisted research workflows. This includes shaping how macroeconomic tools support both the production of insights and the consumption of those insights across Macrobond platforms.

The role focuses on designing clear, scalable, and intuitive user experiences that combine economic data, structured workflows, and AI capabilities to enable faster discovery, analysis, and decision-making.

Job Responsibilities

Product and Workflow Design

• Design and iterate on end-to-end user workflows across the research lifecycle, including discovery, analysis, and publication
• Translate product requirements into clear, usable interaction models for complex analytical tasks
• Design experiences that support large datasets and structured economic concepts
• Contribute to consistency and clarity across workflows and product surfaces

AI Interaction Design

• Design interaction patterns for AI-assisted workflows, including guided and structured interactions
• Contribute to defining how users interact with AI systems beyond generic chatbot interfaces
• Ensure AI-driven features are intuitive, transparent, and aligned with user intent
• Work closely with AI Engineering to align interaction design with system capabilities

Design Systems and Foundations

• Contribute to the development and evolution of a design system
• Apply reusable components, interaction patterns, and visual standards
• Ensure consistency across product features and workflows
• Support efficient product development through well-structured design assets

Collaboration and Research Workflows

• Design workflows that support both research producers and consumers
• Enable smooth transitions between analysis, documentation, and insight distribution
• Contribute to how insights are structured, presented, and consumed across different user personas
• Support collaborative workflows, including sharing, iteration, and feedback

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and AI teams to design solutions to real user problems
• Contribute to product and system design decisions where user experience is critical
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to improving design practices
• Support the broader design function as the team grows

Required Qualifications and experience

• Strong experience in product design, interaction design, or UX design for software products
• Proven ability to design complex features and contribute to broader workflows
• Experience working with engineering teams to deliver production-ready designs
• Good understanding of designing for data-heavy or analytical applications
• Experience working with design systems and reusable components
• Ability to translate requirements into clear and structured design solutions
• Strong communication and collaboration skill
